A Must Read to Each of You!

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU HERE AT THE DIS! I LOVE WDW SO VERY VERY MUCH, EVERY AND EACH DAY THERE IS A SPECIAL PIECE OF THE MAGIC IN MY HOME AND LIFE!

TOMORROW I WILL BE IN THE NEWSPAPER ( I WILL POST THE ARTICILE FOR ALL TO READ) DUE TO A WONDERFUL POST THAT I STARTED ABOUT BEING PARTIALLY BLIND AND GOING TO DISNEY HELPED ME TO MAKE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISON IN MY LIFE, I WANT TO THANK EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!

I HAVE MADE THE DECISON TO GO AHEAD WITH THE PANCREASE TRANSPLANT! I WILL BE HEADING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND ON JULY 7TH. FOR THREE DAYS OF TESTING. I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO EXPECT A NEW PANCREASE WITHIN THREE MONTHS! YES I AM SCARED, BUT ALSO EXCITED TO HAVE A NEW WONDERFUL LIFE. I WILL HOPE TO HAVE ALL OF MY VISION RESTORED OVER THE SUMMER AND BE A NON-DIABETIC BY THE FALL/WINTER. RECOVERY IS AROUND 4-6 MONTHS, DURING MY RECOVERY I AM PLANNING ON PLANNING ONE OF THE BIGGEST TRIPS YET TO WDW! DUE TO ALL OF YOUR WONDERFUL PRAYER'S AND SUPPORT I WAS ABLE TO MAKE MY DECISON, AGAIN I TRUELY THANK EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU HERE ON THESE WONDERFUL MOST AWLSOME BOARDS ON THE NET!!!

MY DD, LAUREN (AGE 19) WILL BE GOING WITH ME FOR MY THREE DAYS OF TESTING. WE WILL TAKE A LIMO FROM SOUTH JERSEY TO MARYLAND, THEN I WILL HAVE ALL OF MY FAMILY AT MY SIDE WHEN THE TIME COMES!

I THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THE COURAGE TO SHARE MY STORY AND LIFE ON THESE BOARDS. THROUGH THESE BOARDS I KNEW IN MY HEART THAT I NOW MUST REACH OUT TO MY COMMUNITY AND HELP OTHERS WHO MAY BE IN MY SITUATION. HECK I KNOW THERE HAS TO BE ANOTHER DIABETIC OUT THERE JUST LIKE ME AND NOT KNOWING WHERE TO TURN. WISH ME LUCK. I AM GOING TO ROCK AND BEAT THIS TERRIBLE DISEASE!

I AM SO VERY BLESSED, AGAIN I COULD HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT ALL YOU! AS WALT WOULD SAY: IF YOU CAN IMAGINE IT YOU CAN DO IT, THAT IS MY MOTTO NOW!!!!! I HOPE TO PAVE THE WAY FOR SO MANY OTHER DIABETIC'S IN THE WORLD. I WILL BE ONE OF THE VERY FIRST TO RECIEVE A PANCREASE ALONE TRANSPLANT!

Wow! What a courageous and inspirational person you are! I will be saying a prayer for you while you go through your testing. My mother is a Type-2 diabetic and I know how much the disease has affected so many parts of her life! I hope all goes well for you!

A truly remarkable story! You will be in my prayers. I found that St. Raphael is the patron saint of the blind, bodily ills, travelers, nurses, physicians, and happy meetings. What a perfect saint for you, since all of these areas apply to you! Your happy meeting will be going to the World for the first time with your sight restored. YOU GO GURL!!! I LOVE HOW GOD CAN TAKE SOMETHING AWFUL AND MAKE IT SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL! HE LED ME TO START AN ONLINE SUPPORT GROUP FOR YOUNG BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS (I WAS 36 WHEN I WAS DIAGNOSED) AND IT'S BEEN A BLESSING TO ALOT OF PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY ME.

Good for you! Life after transplant is wonderful. My daughter had a liver transplant when she was 10 months old. She is 3 now and doing wonderful. We went to WDW 6 months post transplant to celebrate.(He he, she was only 1 than and didn't know but we knew) What a place to celebrate!
