We are going to Disney Word Orlando October1-8 this year with my 3 year old daughter. I am looking for some insight on what the "Must Do's" are when it comes to rides, meals, etc. I have saved a long time for this and want it to be the most memorable time for her. I do not know when I will be able to take her back. Thank you in advance for your input.

When we went a few years ago, my DD had just turned 4. The thing that she remembers the most and that meant the most to her was getting to meet 4 of the Princesses back at the Toon Town tent near Mickey & Minnie's houses in MK. They actually chatted with her one-on-one and she got to dance with Belle to the Beauty and the Beast theme song. The look on her face was priceless.

She also LOVED the Barnstormer (the Goofy roller-coaster) and Splash Mountain. They were just the right amount of "thrills" for her. :goodvibes

I hope you have some character meals booked already. If you haven't you need to do so ASAP by calling or online. They are all wonderful & memorable! Our favorites are Chef Mickey (probably booked this late though), Crystal Palace (Pooh & Friends), breakfast at O'Hana (Mickey, Pluto, Lilo & Stitch).:)

Must do meal for us is the Princess breakfast in Norway. It was the best ever and DD loved seeing all the princesses!!

As for rides her favorite was the Buzz Lightyear ride in MK, she also really enjoyed Dumbo, and the carasel too.

We are planning our second trip and those are the things she has told us we have to do again so I guess they left an impression! LOL!

how about a trip to the bbb?? we are doing that for my 3 year old dd this year, she is soooo excited about it! her bday is a week after we get home from disney, so we are celebrating while we r there w/ a trip to the boutique, and a princess lunch in epcot!

DD always has to get her hair cut at the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street! They can even just get glitter gel if they don't need a haircut, we have done it every year since her first cut at 2.

We had some free time this year and she loved the pony rides at Fort Wilderness (4 years old.)

At 3 she also loved It's a Small Wolrd, Dumbo, Aladdin's Carpets, Spinning Tea Cups, and the shows- Legend of the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Nemo. Also meeting the characters, there are a ton in the Anamation building at Studios everyday. She is a thrill ride kid and Barnstormer was great for a first rollercoaster. My Dad let her drive the car on the Tomorrowland Speedway which she enjoyed. One of her absolute favorites is Turtle Talk with Crush at the Living Seas in Epcot!

Goofy's rollercoaster was a favorite with my oldest son, and he was only 2 and 1/2 on our last trip! He is 4 now, and he still remembers it. "Mom, remember that roller coaster that you took me on yesterweek? Can we go back?" :)

There is so much to do at that age. I went last year with my boys - they were 3 & 4.

I think the best thing you can do is set up some character meals - Chef Mickeys for breakfast is great!!! Try calling and if there's nothing available... KEEP TRYING! Reservations open up all the time!! If you go to one of these bring something the characters can sign. We didn't do autograph books (my boys said they didn't want to) so I brought baseballs for all the characters to sign! They LOVED LOVED LOVED it! And still have the baseballs in their rooms.

If the BBB isn't available, maybe she would like the pirate experience. My niece is 2 and would LOVE this!!!

What about a show?... we did the Hoop De Doo Review and the whole family had fun. It's expensive but lots of entertainment.

You're going in October and could do the Mickey's Halloween Party. Also expensive, but what it Disney isn't. Gives you a night in the park with loads of extras!

Ooooh, did you have a postcard sent to her? Go to the fairygodmailer thread here and see if someone would be willing to send her a postcard before the trip. If you can't find someone, PM me and I'll do it! I'll be there right before you!!

I'm sure just being there and with you will be the greatest trip for her. She's a lucky little girl!!

Disney Playhouse Live at HS is a must. Also Vogage of the Little Mermaid also at DS....all the rides in Fantasyland.

Some great suggestions so far on this board. Did most of them with my DD3(is now 4) last summer.

Let me add a couple of suggestions: Pics outside the Nemo ride with the seagulls(ride is just ok). Little Mermaid show at Hollywood Studios was great. Also would recommend you look into the character greeting schedule for each day you are in the park and pick the most magical character for your daughter.

Also- be sure to take in the parade and fireworks at the Magic Kindom!!!

Hope you have a great trip!

one of our best days with my at the time 5 yr old daughter was going to the BBB at the castle to get made into a princess then head over to the Princess character greeting tent and get pics with each princess while she is freshly made up then we had our Cinderella's Royal Table, castle dining ressie then watched the parade on Main Street :) Perfect evening :)

My kids are 3 1/2 and 18 months - we booked the BBB, some character meals, and the Wishes Dessert Party. Toontown is definitely a must where you can meet with the princesses and Mickey Mouse, don't forget Princess Tiana is separate in Liberty Square. Also the Dream Along With Mickey show is perfomed infront of the castle several times a day.:woohoo:

I definitely recommend packing princess dresses! The highlight of my daughter's first trip, when she was 4yo, was when she was walking near the castle in her Cinderella costume and a CM came up to her and asked for her 'royal autograph'. She still tells people that she was mistaken for a real princess....and that was 4 years ago!
