A moderate resort room question

We will be at the CSR next week and was wondering if anyone else had this problem, too.

The problem is the room configuration for the vanity & lights. I always wake up early and try to get dressed before I get up the rest of the crew. However, the vanity light shines right into the bed area and I wake them up everytime. In the deluxe resorts, the vanity area is around the corner or otherwise semi-secluded. My family is much happier when they can sleep as long as possible!

Has anyone ever hung a sheet up over the opening? Does anyone know how wide it is? I know it sounds crazy but I've considered packing a tension rod in my luggage for a make-shift light barrier.

Anybody?....... (or I am the only one that doesn't like it?!?!?!)

The refurbished POFQ rooms have a curtain that separates the vanity area from the rest of the room. Probably won't help you now...

You could lay your clothes out the night before, then dress in the toilet/bath area with the door shut, unless of course the bathroom fan will wake the family.

CBR has a curtain as well between the vanity area and the bedroom. it was quite helpfull for our family.

We stayed at CSR in April our room had a privacy curtain right there as you go into that part. You can close it off seperate from the beds. It was a great help for us.

Ditto!! Also it adds a little bit if privacy when you're dressing!!princess:

Great! Thanks for the info!

A great idea, IMHO.

I'm hoping that all the rooms have the privacy curtain now. Does anybody know if I need to request a room with a curtain or do they all have them?

Unfortunately, I believe you're in the only moderate that DOESN'T offer the privacy curtain! (well, Riverside doesn't either) (Coronado Springs, right?)

I'm not sure how you'd go about hanging a sheet yourself. You could try using a push pin or thumb tack, but I'm not sure if the walls are concrete.

I don't know if you'll have a car, but you could stop at Walgreen's, and buy a cheapo lamp that throws as little light as possible and use it instead of the big overhead light.

We stayed at POR in NOvember.... no curtain. Sounds like a great idea!

We just got back from CSR and our room had a privacy curtian. It was great I was up and showered and ready to go with out the girls getting impatient because they were still asleep. When I was ready I opened the blinds to slowly wake them up and it worked really well. I don't know if all the rooms have them but we were in the ranchos if that helps. Have a great trip.

We were in the Cabanas in Nov in a newly refurbished room and we had the curtain. A coworker just got back last week, she was in the Casitas and had the curtain. I think it is safe to say that all rooms at CSR have the privacy curtain.

The last two times we were at CSR there were privacy curtains in the room....not sure if they were new or not but the last two times we were there were Feb. '04 and Aug. '03. We are going back on July 14th so will make it a point to check again!!! :)
