My car ('03 bought new in November of '03) is going to have 100,000 miles on it before the end of the week. We've never kept a car for this long or owned a car with this many miles on it. Well, maybe our first cars had more miles, but they were used, so they don't count.

Here's to 100,000 more miles!

:thumbsup2 My '02 just passed the 60K mark. I probably won't make it to 100K. There's no way that I'm keeping this car another 8 years! :rotfl2:

Here's hoping you can make 100k more miles! :thumbsup2

I had a used car when I was a late teen that turned 100k, then shortly after got totalled in a drunk-driving accident (i was not the drunk one, lol).

My van I have now, we bought new in '04 and has almost 55k miles on it.. so we'll see if I get to see that one do the big turnover or not.

Would like to keep it for a while, but not sure if I want to have ot for another 7 yrs, which will most likely be the timeframe I'd need to keep it to see it turn 100k.

DH and I are in the car business and are franchise owners. We drive a lot from store to store, so we tend to keep cars for a long time. Our usual practice is to buy new, I drive it for five years then pass it to him and he drives it for five years. It helps that he knows what cars/engines are best based on his 20+ years of experience. At any rate, he is currently driving a car that is almost 13 years old and has 300K miles on it. And the engine is still going strong.

He has a truck which is a 2005, I think, but because it is a guzzler he likes to drive the car. I think he's decided to keep the car until id dies.

My 2000 Subaru, which I passed on to my daughter three years ago, has 225,000 miles on it! She drives to and from college on the weekends in the winter and back and forth to work in the summer. Hopefully it will last her another three years until she is out of school.

The new car, a 2008 Subaru, has 95,000 miles on it. I hope to get another three years out of it!

Our 2005 Suby has 130,000 miles on it and our 2004 Toyota has 114,000. We hope to pass the Suby to the eldest DD when she turns 16 and buy another one! This is our second one. The first was almost to 300,000 when we sold it. My Toyota will probably go to the youngest DD 2 years later and we'll buy another one of those, and rinse and repeat. LOL. They have both been such good vehicles.

My 2004 Explorer has 110,000 miles and still going strong. I'd like to trade it in for a more fuel efficient car, but I'm not ready for another car payment! No more SUV's for me though.

We always keep our cars till they are over 100,000 miles and we are usually towing them in to trade them:lmao: We run the car till it dies...I love not having a payment after we get them paid off!

My husband drives a '99 Dodge truck with 70 some thousand miles on it, I have an '05 Toyota van with 80 some thousand miles on it, and dd drives a '01 Chevy Cavilier with only 35,000 original miles on it:banana::banana:

Congrats on getting to 100,000! We too have never held onto a vehicle long enough to get to that point but currently our PT Cruiser is 40 miles from 100,000.

Sadly DH is convinced that AT the 100,000 mark the car is gonna crap out and die on us...then again he's felt that way since the 30,000 mark which is where we usually get a new one. LOL

I'm hoping to double what we have now! That ought to downright kill DH! LOL LOL LOL

congrats... I have a 92 volvo with 112,000 miles on it.... I'm going to drive it til the wheels fall off...

My 2000 Toyota has 150K...I hope it can last another 150k but it might be another 10 years before I can afford another car.

i have one with 148K on it and its hanging in there, Honda's tend to do that ;) so it makes it hard to get rid of it :rotfl:

2000 Buick LeSabre with 135,000. The engine/transmission are still going strong, but everything else is falling to pieces. :rotfl: We're keeping it until the engine falls out.
We didin't have a car payment for 7 years and I LOVED it. We just replaced our 20yo chevy kingcab with a used 2010 Impala and had to finance about 1/4 of it. I can't wait to get that paid off!!!

2003 Mitsubishi Montero sport with 202,000 miles. I do a lot of driving obviously. The good thing is that it is mostly highway miles. I love not having a car payment. I will drive until the wheels fall off.
