Packed (again) and sprinted over to Dali Museum in St Petes. I wanted some huge prints they sell there, or rather used to sell. Another disappointment! The holiday is falling apart! The Dali Museum has a good collection and the artwork is very well presented. Even if you are not a Dali fan I would recommend a visit here.

Drive up to Orlando – stopping at steak ‘n shake $21 inc two cans of chilli to take home!

Arrive at Coronado Springs Resort - beautiful looking resort. Check in quickly and pleased to see we have been allocated Cabanas 8b as requested. Dumped our bags in the room and hurried over to the Magic Kingdom for the evening.

Magic Kingdom was heaving. First real crowds we had seen this holiday. Admittedly, it was a Saturday and I wouldn’t have chosen to be at the MK, but it was the only day that SpectroMagic was on. We didn’t do much – wandered round, just biding our time until the parade started.

Found a reasonable viewing spot in front of Guest Relations and tried to capture the parade on camera. Frustrating – very difficult to get a decent picture. Same problem, same rant as at Epcot’s Illuminations…

Returned to CSR at 9ish - Pepper Market for dinner. I had heard good things about this food court. The layout was good and presented a great selection of food. You move from counter to counter selecting your meal and have a card stamped to indicate your choice. After dinner you proceed to the tills and the cashier uses your card to calculate the bill. We just had entrees, a Chinese Platter for me and Pasta Alfredo. I know this is a silly niggle of a complaint – but when offered rice or noodles I asked for half and half. I was told I couldn’t do that! Why? My question was met with a shrug. We had a couple of bottles of water and I had margarita. The bill? $45!!!

After dinner we walked along ‘beach’. Lay in hammock and soaked up the atmosphere before returning to the room.

Back in the room I noticed how tired the room looked. The carpets were worn and the state of the room was generally tatty. I think the Hilton/Renaissance had spoilt me. However, I was paying a lot of money for what was essentially a motel?! The main area of the resort was very pleasant and the pool areas were nice. But, the room was way beneath my expectations of a Disney Resort.

Went to bed, getting up again to try and persuade the bathroom extractor fan to stop!

Wonderful trip report ~ Thanx for sharing.

Hmm - a great pity that your room was so disappointing.
