When we go to WDW in Nov. my DM,MIL,SIL and DD3 and niece 4 will be dining at 1900 for dinner. We really don't think that my DH, DS's 9,9,5, and FIL, DAD ,nephews 12,9 will enjoy this :confused3 .This would probably be a great time for a split up, where do you recomend the DUDES to eat??? :smooth: Someone recomended ESPN ,is this considered a table service. I would like to see them go somewhere fun and exciting. Any suggestions??? :confused3

I took my DS who was 4 at the time turning 5 in a few months to 1900 PF for dinner. The prince is there so there is a male character. He enjoyed it as much as his sister. I actually took 2 boys ( and 2 little girls)there my son and the son of one of my freinds. The other boy was almost 6 at the time and he loved it too. there was another boy there who looked to be about 8 or 9 and seemed to enjoy it he was also wearing one of those large sorcerer Mickey hats. I reallly want to get my DS a Peter Pan coustume and dress him up next time we go there.

We had lots of fun at Chef Mickey's (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip & Dale) with our large group, but your daughter would enjoy it too. The food at 1900 Park Fare is excellent, and the guys might really like the buffet. I have eaten at ESPN Zone in 2000 and I can't even remember what the food was like. DH loved the atmosphere with tvs everywhere showing different sporting events. I know it is really hard to please everybody all the time. We saw plenty of boys at the PSL and they all seemed to be having a good time. My DS was in awe of the pretty princesses (although he is only 2). Good luck and I hope everyone hs fun whatever you decide! :goodvibes

Sci-Fi is usually a big hit with boys and Chef Mickeys, LTT and Crystal Palace are pretty gender neutral.

If you are not going until Nov., you MAY be able to take your son(s) to a real "dudes" character meal! This is still in the rumor/development stage, but word on the street is that MGM is planning to add a Pixar character meal featuring characters from Toy Story and the Incredibles. Most CM's are still denying it if you call to try to reserve this meal, but some have agreed that it is in the works. Rumor has it that this will start in June, so most likely you will be able to enjoy it in Nov. There is another thread on this Restaurant Forum...I think it is called "MGM Character Meal Update" and it shows the date and whether they have started taking ADRs yet. As of 3/17...still nothing!

We are going at the end of April, so it looks like we will miss it. When asked where they would like to eat, my 2 boys requested Sci-Fi (sitting in cars in the dark w/ old b/w movies), Coral Reef (fish tanks all around) and Teppanyaki (chefs cook on the table in front of you). They are 9 and 12 and not too much into characters (although I did book a breakfast at Chef Mickey's). Good Luck!

We love 1900 PF--(Breakfast AND Dinner :rotfl2: )

Last time, DS6 celebrated his birthday there at the Royal Gala and all the staff made such a fuss over him. His sister had worn her Cinderella gown, so he decided to wear his Peter Pan outfit. The prince kept coming by and chatting with him, and asking for sword/dagger demos (very impressive for DS!) The mice kept coming along and snatching his hat and dancing around with it. They really know how to make all the kids--boys or girls--have a great time! :goodvibes

Now as far as the men....DH declared it the very best character meal ( and he did care about the meal part of that phrase  ) and kept heading back up to sample new items. He actually missed a lot of cute photo ops with the characters because he kept returning to the buffet (and they kept returning--not in the regular rotation, so it was hard to plan--we do forgive him :lmao: )

In fact DH wanted to return to do this meal next time when we are just the two of us--he still talks about that buffet.

That said, it IS fun to sometimes have that special "girls night out" princess: experience. Maybe they would enjoy some hearty fixin's and fun at the WCC, which would put both groups in easy reach of MK to meet back up later?

I would recommend Chef Mickeys or Whispering Canyon Cafe - although there aren't really characters at WCC. But they can get "Macho man" food like ribs in the skillet meal.

I was nervous about taking my DS (5) (6) to the PSB at Epcot and 1900 Park Fare for dinner with my niece....but I have to say the princesses make a very big deal over the princes...and it's kinda cute. My son's loved both. 1900 has Prince Charming which was a hit with everyone. At PSB Jasmine was kidding around with DS (5) who was grumpy that morning and asked him if he was a "prince" or a "Street Rat"....he changed to a smile quickly.

If you are going when this Toy Story thing happens that's what I would go for...my son's are going to love that if it's true!
