A May Mini-moon in the Making

Your plans look great!!! We leave for our trip on 4/20...tomorrow I can say "We are going to Disney this month!!!!"

Since are staying off-site this trip I didn't think I would get an opportunity to select my FP+'s ahead of time, but I read that effective today off-site guests can select FP+ 30 days prior to their visit...just need to link their tickets to MDE. I should be getting my tickets from Undercover Tourist soon so I will start my FP+ selection soon :)

Great update, and I hope you are planning on doing a TR...would love to read how the trip went! :)

Yay, deedee, you are going to Disney THIS MONTH! :cool1: It's so exciting to hit a fun milestone on the count down!

Five weeks from today is our wedding and departure day! Wild to think that five weeks from right this moment I will be married and on my way to the airport. I can't wait!

And thanks for the compliment. I would definitely like to do a TR. When I get it started, I'll link to it here so folks can find it if they're interested.

I've been reading so many posts on the Dis boards since my trip in October that I've started a list of things I've never done on past trips. I'd like to do some of these while on our trip, and I know Mel will be open to them...

Magic Kingdom:
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Walt Disney World Railroad (how have I never ridden this before?!)
  • 7 Dwarfs Mine Train (FINGERS CROSSED!)
  • Festival of Fantasy Parade

Epcot:
  • Gran Fiesta Tour
  • Journey into Imagination with Figment (I might have done this a really long time ago, but if so I don't remember!)
  • Sum of All Thrills
  • Mission: SPACE (I don't know if I'll be brave/dumb enough to try this...I tend to get dizzy pretty easily so I've always avoided it but I'm super curious!)
  • Try the sodas in the Coca Cola exhibit
  • Flower and Garden show

Hollywood Studios:
  • Magic of Disney Animation
  • Walt Disney: One Man's Dream

Animal Kingdom:
  • Find DiVine
  • Pangani Trail (really don't understand how I've missed this)
  • Primeval Whirl (again not sure due to dizziness)
  • Triceratops Spin

That's a good idea, the never-done-before checklist. I shall have to make one for our August excursion.

Mission Space is pretty intense, not gonna sugar coat that. The green team isn't bad, but it took me some time to recover after I was cajoled into trying the orange team. We can thank my 10 year old nephew for that. :-)

If you end up making a never-done-before checklist, I wanna see it!

As for Mission Space, if I try it at all it will definitely be green team. I'm thinking if I do it like 1-2 hours after a meal with a nice rest planned afterwards for minimum queasiness, maybe it will work? Hopefully those aren't famous last words...

In January my husband made me do the orange side. I seriously thought I was going to puke! We survived though but I did feel a little quesy for about an hour after. I told him NEVER again!

We are officially less than one month to go before our wedding and trip! Time is flying and we are getting so excited!! We've started watching Disney movies to get pumped up. Over the past week I've seen Lilo & Stitch, Mulan, & Monsters University along with a few travel channel Disney specials. I've also been listening to a Disney pandora station at work this week. Nerdy much? :cool1:

Tonight we hit another milestone for our trip! I had Mel take some photos to document so we could bring you all along.

Oh, look! A package from Florida! Whatever could this be?

I guess I'd better open it and find out...

Magic bands have arrived!!!

New colors this time! Last trip I was pink and Mel was red. This time, I'm green and he's blue.

Just 3 weeks and 6 days and we'll be wearing these for real!

Aaaaand my photos are sideways. :sad2: But I don't know how to fix it and you all get the idea!

I've got one other quick update for you. Mel's a graphic designer and he is making us some honeymoon t-shirts for the trip! Want to see a preview?

I know I'm probably a little biased, but I think this turned out SO CUTE! We've ordered some different color shirts and Mel will be making them at work with the professional heat press machine over the next few weeks. Can't wait to take advantage of our Memory Maker package with these cute shirts (and some bride and groom ears)!

YAY for MAGIC BANDS!!!!!!

And I LOVE your shirts! Adorable!!!

It is SO CLOSE!!!!

One thing I've been thinking a lot about is our BOG dinner ressie. I was only able to get a very late reservation (9:10), and the way the rest of our schedule is working out it's on an evening where I'd prefer to be at a different park. I've heard rumors that some folks have been able to get fast passes to BOG lunch, but when I tried using the link I found on the Dis it didn't work for me. Possibly they're all booked? But I've heard of some folks getting them a month or less out, so maybe I'll keep trying. .:confused3 If anyone has any tips I would be very appreciative!

This is where I went to make my ressie! A "package" confirmation will not work since it's a mix of letters and numbers, but I used a long list of numbers that was associated with my magic band and I was able to get a lunch reservation! Hope this helps! Love your PTR by the way! We are going on our disneymoon in 2 days and I might be borrowing some of your plans! :goodvibes:

Here we are, folks! That magical Disney travel day! And OH YEAH...I'm getting married today too!!! pixiedust:

I've been too busy with final details of the wedding to be on the Dis boards much, but we have made a few changes to the trip. I ended up canceling the late night BOG ressie that wasn't working in our schedule and booked a lunch at Yak and Yati for that day. I'm so excited to try the sweet fried wontons for dessert!

I was also able to snag a lunch reservation at Sci Fi, so I subbed that in for the Prime Time res. The food looks so good there, but I really am afraid I wouldn't like the attention from the cousins. Maybe I'll try it again on a future trip when we're in a bigger group. :confused3

The other change I've been thinking about is moving some of our FP+s earlier in the day now that we have the option of additional FPs once they're used. I saw a post the other day where someone was able to get and use 10 FP+s in one day. We used to use paper FPs very aggressively, so I was excited to hear this was a possibility. Now I just want to make sure I'm being smart! I'll probably end up changing things around while I'm waiting at the airport this evening.

Still hoping for that BOG lunch res, but nothing yet. We shall see if it's meant to be! If not, maybe we'll get it next time.

I've got a few fun wedding details for you, too. First, the weather. We are getting married outside and I have been sort of freaking out about the weather for the past few weeks. It's been pretty cold and dreary in Boston, but I decided that I wouldn't complain about the weather at ALL and hope that the weather gods would smile on me in return. Looks like today will be pretty nice! Check out the week's weather report when I checked it yesterday:

Looks like we're getting the pick of the week! *fingers crossed*

We decided at the last minute to get cake toppers for our ice cream wedding cake. We thought about getting one of the fancy mickey and minnie toppers, but with rush shipping it would have been kinda pricey. Instead, Mel went to the Disney Store and got us a set of Muppet Movie figurines. Here's what we're using:

I love how fancy Miss Piggy is!

And finally, wanted to share my Minnie-themed wedding mani/pedi! I went to get it done last night with my good Disney friend Stacey, and we clearly were equally excited to talk about the Disney trip as we were to talk about the wedding!

My friends are coming to do my hair and makeup shortly, so I guess it's time to go get ready. Thanks so much for sharing this PTR with me. Really looking forward to reporting back about our trip!

HAPPY WEDDING DAY!!!!!
:bride::groom::bride::groom::bride::groom::bride:

I hope your Disney wedding and honeymoon are absolutely packed to the brim with magic!!!!! Sit back, relax and enjoy!!!!!

Da dum da dum....da dum da dum....
