DD and I just bought bras at VS a few months ago.
When they measure around your rib cage or high on your chest, they do wrap the tape measure all the way around. However, when they measure your bust, they do not - not sure how that works, but I did end up with the right size. I wouldn't have a problem with a guy measuring me for a bra at VS.
When I went into the dressing room, they gave me a box of bras in different styles to try on. The first one did not fit well, and I did ask the (female) attendant to come in. There was no touching involved - I just wanted to know which styles in the box would be the best bet for me to try with my figure. After that, I would try on a bra, put my T-shirt back on and open the door for her opinion. I would have been reluctant to ask a male into the dressing room, but would have been fine with putting my top back on and asking if a particular bra was giving me a nice shape.
My 14 yr old DD however, when asked about a guy (even a gay man) helping her at VS, replied "EWWWWW!!".
