DB and I, as well as another couple who had never been to Disney before, traveled down to WDW last Thursday. We did DTD that night and swam at the resort. It was wonderful.
Friday, it was Epcot day, my favorite day (even before the big event that I didn't know about!). We rode Test Track, Mission Space, Nemo, Living with the Land, ate at Sunshine Seasons (the salmon was AMAZING). Went to Innoventions, and started around the world.
I noticed that DB was acting....weird. Well, not weird, as he was still having fun and being happy, but he was...off somehow. I started noticing it after we ran into someone we didn't like (we used to work there on the College Program, and know many people at Epcot). After a few hours of his off-ness, I decided that after IllumiNations I would say something to him, to let him know that just because we ran into this person, don't let it ruin your vacation.
He was distant at dinner (Marakesh, one of our favs), and was very anxious to get a good spot for the fireworks...but it was only 730. So we located a spot, and a friend and I went in search of the Dooney & Burke bags (no one in Epcot knew where they were...but for the record they are in Mouse Gear). DB started texting me, telling me to hurry back...at 810. We had been gone only 15 minutes! We were back soon after, hanging out and waiting for the fireworks. DB handed the camera to my friend...which was odd. Then again, said friend mentioned a story about leaving her camera at home so she'd "live in the moment," so I thought that maybe had something to do with it, as he loves his camera.
Then, at the point in IllumiNations where everyone thinks its over, right before the song "We Go On," he started whispering in my ear, then got down on one knee <3
Our friends were completely oblivious. In fact, when he stood up, I kissed him, and my friend said "geez guys, can't you wait until we get back to the room?" After the fireworks, we told them, and they were in shock! They never would have guessed!!
Yeah, the rest of the vacation was a blur, but we had a blast! Nothing bad happened, except for a massive bug bite.
