A MAGICAL Columbus Day Cruise Texas style 10/6/2012

Formal night usually has the more formal food - lobster tail and steak, etc.

Here is the schedule for our cruise:
1 night - Theme of your dining location
2nd night - Formal with Captian's reception
3rd - Theme of your dining location
4th - Pirate Theme
5th - Theme of your dining location
6th - Semi Formal
7th - Farewell Dinner

If you have a dining rotation you really want, you can call and request it or have your TA do it if you are booked with an agency.

The current movies showing on the ship:
3D - Toy Story 3
3D - Tangled
3D and regular - John Carter
3D and regular - Brave
Other non-3D movies:
Cars 2
Real Steel
Muppets
Chimpanzee
Avengers
People Like Us
Timothy Green

Movies might change if a new movie comes out - I don't remember seeing anything due out before Oct. 6th.

You can also call in and prepay your gratuities - $84 pp or they will be added onto your cruise bill at the end of the sailing - you no longer have to do this at guest services. Disney is currently starting to put these on the bill earlier in the cruise so you will see it with your final bill, but this may not be in place before our cruise.

Frankenweenie is due out Oct 5th...lol

I like formal night. Hubby wears a tux and I wear a long gown. But have worn the same one on every cruise we have been on. Lots of people do not dress but I love having the pictures from formal night.

Mal

P.S. Patti - great job on the fish extender

So excited to be cruising with y'all!! :) Our first cruise as a family--my hubbs and I, two boys, 4 and 6

me too.

dd really wanted to do the FE this cruise, so we have officially signed up.
I also want to do the FE--I think my kiddos will LOVE it!! Now..to get to 10 posts and then figure out what I'm going to make... Hmmm :)

You're right! How exciting! I'm sure it will be showing (I can see them doing that one in the Walt Disney Theatre - they are always showing new releases - also I think Finding Nemo will be out in 3D - they might add that as well!

So excited I see several 6 year old boys that are coming....any 4th grade (or 3rd-5th) girls that will be cruising with us?

(trying to get to 10 posts, so bear with me over the next few days please.)

We booked Palo for the 5th night, so we are happy to see that it does not interfere with the other special nights....

I wish I could get my kids excited about Sting Ray City in the Caymans - I'd love to go there, but so far they are not on board...

I can't remember if I saw it on this thread or another, but we are bringing pillow cases with fabric markers (not yellow) and leaving them with guest services on the first night - we understand all the characters will sign it and it will be returned to us at the end of the cruise- a great, inexpensive souvenir with all the coveted signatures!

I have a 4th grade girl! We will have to get them together. I also have a 4th grade boy ( they are twins). We are doing Stingray City even though my daughter is not too sure about it. I decided it was something the majority of my family wanted to do so we were going to do it! If she just stays on the boat and doesn't get in the water with them that is fine with me. At least she will still see them up close and I have a feeling that once mom, dad and brother are in the water and she sees we are ok she will do it too. We booked our excursion through Captain Marvin's and I have been told they are really patient with people who might be a little scared. Hopefully we all have fun!!

I was thinking cute little sombreros (Costa Maya), tiny beach towels (like Malibu Barbies) for Cozumel, Jack Skellington something, etc. Gotta come up with something for the Grand Caymans- maybe origami stingrays.

I'm a Girl Scout leader and we make what are called SWAPS (special whatchamacallits affectionally pinned somewhere) We trade these at scouting events, etc. Go on pinterest and search for swaps and you will be amazed at how cute they can be. And, if Girl scout leaders are involved, it's gonna be cheap!

It is so funny that you said that about the swaps. I was trying to describe the Fish Extender to my 12 year old daughter and she said, "Oh, it is swaps for grownups!" That is what I thought too! I am a Girl Scout leader of 8 - 7th graders and I have had them in my troop since kindergarten! pirate:

Wow! 6 years together as a troop. you must be great at SWAPS! I love that your daughter called them SWAPS for adults! Just picked up some tiny sombreros yesterday. Glue dots and sequins will be all over my craft table today...pixiedust:

My Son is 6 and my daughter is 8 (3rd grade) They love meeting new crusin' friends!

I had just decided to spend the $$$ and book the Secret River excursion in Cozumel and it is sold out! I am so disappointed!!!! The tour company won't do it privately - you must go thru DCL excursions. I'm going to check every day and pray that a family of 4 cancels!

Renee,

Our daughter is turning 8 today! I hope they can get together! I plan on taking her to the pool while we wait for our luggage to be delivered. Just made storm trooper cupcakes for the class, light saber pretzel rods, and Yoda soda (her class is full of Star Wars fans.) I need a nap and it's only 9:30 am!!
