A lovelsy idea for those unused soaps!

My husband and five year old daughter stayed at a Ronald McDonald House last night in preparation for my daughter's surgery today. (Everything went well!)

The stay was amazing. RMH is a wonderful charity. Not only did we stay in a lovely room for $15, but the biggest blessing was that the home had a playroom, videos, toys, a wonderful dinner, kitchen and amazing staff at our disposal. My daughter is autistic, so these "amenities" were way beyond whatwe could have recieved at a hotel.

In any case....the Ronald McDonald House had a large basket of items that we could take for our use. One basket had all sorts of hotel soaps and lotions. I thought it would be so nice for the children there if there were fun disney soaps!

So, if you have a bunch of lonely Mickey soaps or shampoos in your bathroom drawer that you are saving....won't you consider dropping them off at a Ronald McDonald House near you? They will immediately brighten up a very needy child's day!

There was an address posted on this site last year of a woman in MA that collected the mickey soaps etc that were sent to her and she made gift bags for children in the hospitals, I have sent her 2 boxes in the past year and have another ready to go..........but your idea is a great one also. I never use the hotel soaps and am glad to know that the Mickey ones brighten someones day.

Great Idea for the Micki Soaps. In the past, we have always taken our hotel soaps, shampoo etc to our local Rescue Mission (for men, women & children) where it is very appreciated.

Thank you for that information! I am sending some today. Also, like someone else said, homeless shelters as well as battered womens shelters love getting these smaller sized soaps. Many churches will have donation boxes where you can just stop by and drop these off if you have a bunch. Its also a great project for kids to start at their schools. This is the one item I sometimes will steal off a maid's cart, just one or two, kind of a Robin Hood kind of mentality I know!

Thanks for mentioning that. We have a RMH here in Kansas City that would love to have those items. You would be so suprised how a small bar of soap or shampoo can brighten a kids day. Great post!!
