A LOT of people hate clowns...

I am afraid of dragons, could somebody ask them to remove it from the pool at POFQ?
Those jesters are also pretty close to clown-like. Maybe they should go, too. And need to get rid of those gators for reasons I'm sure we can all figure out. Looks like POFQ needs a full re-theme. Maybe Port Orleans-Frozen Wonderland or Port Orleans-Pandora.

I visited the pool recently and was surprised not to see any elephants. It made me think back to this thread, and whether they actually are re-theming? Did I just miss them, or did they remove those a while ago?

My wife hates clowns and that clown freaks :scared: her out but myself and my girls still go down the slide.:yay: My thinking is if you don't like it don't stay there many other places to stay.
We still stay and have a great time..

I like the theme of Boardwalk overall and the pool area is quaint. I never really focused on the clown. I guess the idea of clowns has never bothered me.

As creepy as that IT clown is at the BW pool...NOTHING is creepier than those horrifying chairs in the lobby.

Everyone has their own fears even if they don't "make sense" to someone else.

My now-ex is afraid of sunflowers.

I'm phobic of butterflies (but not moths).

(side note, we had a summer, garden, outdoors, wedding.)

Everyone's weird in some way!

Also, I'm totally planting sunflowers soon.....

If you're ever in Oregon or Washington, consider NOT staying at a McMenamins hotel. Because the artwork is freeeeeeaky. Like that chair.

The feet are what get me the most. You know they walk around when no ones there.

Well I sure do appreciate THAT thought; thanks so much!

When we were in WDW last month we booked a FD BB for next August at the BWI. We haven't been there in a few years, but we love the EPCOT resort area so we decided it's time to come home. Love everything about the resort, especially the pool.

Not only that, they talk. I heard they walk around the Villas hallways, and say redrum, redrum over and over again. They then go to the pool to go down the clown slide. After that they secretly go back to the lobby to watch The Shining.

The clown is fine, with so many other resort options maybe stay somewhere else. I’m not a fan of the music theming so I just choose not to stay at All Star Music

I've never understood the clown hating thing. Then again I never had any childhood trauma involving clowns so... :confused3

That said, I've always thought it looks kind of tacky. Not tacky enough that it would stop me staying there, but I did wonder why of all things did they go with that. If the have re-do it at some point for some functional/structural issues, I'd say maybe go with something different. But beyond that, meh. I'm not bothered by it.

It is modeled after an old roller coaster on a boardwalk (like NJ) from the early 1900's. That is what it would look like back then.
