I'll never understand adults being afraid or hating clowns. Just a person with make up, no big deal. Pennywise didn't even scare me as a kid. Besides, a lot of kids, like clowns...

And a depiction of a clown - an inanimate object - even less.

My husband hates clowns. I don't mind clowns but holy cow that pool is creeptacular. We stayed at BWV in 2016 and my ONLY ONLY ONLY request was to NOT have a pool view. The CM at member services was laughing out loud when I made the request but assured me he put it in. We got there and were given a room with a face-on view of the clown. And also with a work crew on our balcony painting for 2 days and a soaking wet carpet (had just been shampooed that morning and the desk insisted we were stuck with that room).

That said, the slide IS a ton of fun. DH says it's his favorite pool slide.

But man...at night, that pool looks like it'd eat your soul!

I don't mind clowns and the slide was really fun. I don't know if we went on an off weekend or the clown scared people away, but there was barely anyone in the pool it was amazing.

I actually like all of them just fine but I love floating in the pool with a noodle so the BW quiet pool wins. Lazy rivers are terrific, especially large ones like the Hilton Bonnet creek one. I find the SAB lazy river too small and way too deep. But it looks good lol.

I use the one by community hall from which I have been able to obtain a noodle. The sun hitting the pool has been blocked during the late afternoon there which I also like.

I don't like clowns but it's not exactly a fear, I just don't find them appealing--they're kinda stupid. I sure wouldn't let a clown feature at a resort pool keep me from staying there.

Yes, I used one in February of this year. They seemed to have a good supply in the community hall. I used to pick one up at target, until l realized they had them. Good luck!

Even if you have a fear of clowns I do not see how the slide could possible bother anyone. The slide is an inanimate object lol.

BWI is such a lovely resort. I really could not care less that there is a clown face on the best slide in WDW. If it keeps the crowds away, bonus for us!

Yeah, I’m not so much afraid of clowns, just they’re super creepy and give me the heebee jeebees. It’s just not my cup of tea. I know there’s plenty that do like the pool with the big freaky clown that regurgitates laughing humans into a pool. (<—I jest! But seriously, it DOES! LOL!) With so many other resort options there’s a place for everyone! Win/win!

No one is forced to stay at the BW. If you don't like the theming, there are plenty of options.

I am an adult afraid of clowns, and it's because as a child, I was suddenly startled by one and it resulted in a panic attack (I deal with anxiety disorder to this day). My sister had the same experience and is also afraid. Everyone has their own fears even if they don't "make sense" to someone else. I personally hate that clown pool even after seeing it in person, and though I don't think it would stop me from staying at the hotel, I can understand why it makes others uncomfortable as well to the point of not even staying on property. For some people even just the idea of passing by it can really upset a person that's very afraid.
