A lot of Newbies, how about the Oldbies?

On a recent thread it was determined that this forum has a lot of newbies. I was watching the Dis Meet 2003 2 disc dvd set last night with the kids and was wondering how many oldbies are still around? Anyone have this dvd? Barry did quite a segment on Fly_fly and the Ghostbusters as well as the HHN Infestation bit. I never thought I'd say this but I kind of miss the Fly_fly / SpideyHulk badgering patter.

I think the word Newbie is derived from the Romper Room Do Be a Do Bee jingle. The lady that starred on that show is the head of our Human Resources Dept.! What would Scooby Do?

But...I remember reading all about SpideyHulk's plans for his first trip, and how much he loved it! He was way into it!

Wasn't Fly_fly the one who was obsessed with the Ghostbusters, or am I thinking of someone else??

I remember that Ghostbusters/Flyfly clip too! I downloaded the video that Barry had (never got the DVD). That was WAYYY funny! Does Clare still have her site now that the Ghostbusters show is over?

Last we heard from SpideyHulk24, he was expecting baby #2!

How about JessicaR, DocBosch, the Dark Maurader, etc. too. Haven't heard from any of them in a while either.

I know a number of folks became disenchanted with the Dis when Barry was given the boot. Selena was trying to get everyone to jump ship for IOA Central. PrinceEric was frustrated as well. Mrs. DM still visits from time to time. I miss JessicaR and wish she would return to at least the hotel forum. Last I heard she had got her Travel Agent's license. Doc used to get annoyed when Clare and Spidey would post simply to have the most posts or would hijack a thread and turn it into a GB lovefest. DaddyDon lost favor when Barry left.
This Forum needs a Moderator that actually visits Universal. Some of the questions are repeated so often that they should be in a sticky thread. Some of the questions should be moved to a different forum and some of the threads should be shut down.

Ugghhh! ITA -- I get sick of seeing the same questions over and over and over and..... I have pretty much just stopped answering them. I have often thought about creating a FAQ thread because it's become so bad. (But without a good mod, we'd just have to keep bumping the thread...)

Things like:

• How many days do I need?
• Is free express really gone?
• What is the difference between Express Plus and FOTL?
• What will the crowds like during my trip? How long should I expect to wait in line?
• What are the rides for Pooh-sized people?
• What can my kids do at Universal? (Note: this ticks me off as Barry had a GREAT sticky thread on this, and it appeared to be capriciously deleted once he left just because he started it.)
• How many movie/meal coupons can you use at once?
• Does anyone have any extra movie/meal coupons to send me?
• What are the best ticket options?
• What is the best place to eat?
• Can I make dinner reservations or do I even need them?
• I am not a thrill seeker. Is UO still a place for me? What can I ride?
• Tell me about refillable mugs at UO.

The Resorts Board can be just as bad with the same old questions repeated over and over. I never thought I would get bored here, but I totally am.

Aww...Come on now...not all of us have known about this board as long as you guys have. I just found it last month. I do agree that if questions are being repeated by new folks (like myself) then maybe they should be somewhere easily seen (on the front page). I have been doing searches for keywords, but sometimes have no luck. I've found answers from you experienced folks to be quite helpful. Thanks!

Daddydon is still alive and kicking I too have grown tired of the same ole questions Has any one heard of seach mode???I just quit posting when some posters were running there mouths about things they did not have a clue about.(Motherfletcher you know what i mean)Yes i too miss the good ole day's i still visit Orlando 4x a year if not more (i was there 2 weeks ago)Me and Barry did knock heads a couple of times but we were adult's about it and still are friends,The GB thing was almost a life of it's own back in the day(Thanks Fly Fly)I miss it when people could joke and not get flamed or someone would get there pantyhose in a wad I loved it when we would have a meet and greet,yes i have the Dvd and me and my wife and dd 9 are in it.we had a meet at board walk with Dan murphy and sideshow and many others one moring....

Well if Fly Fly and Spideyhulk are oldies then. MIB999999, RangeBob, MsDis, Rocketman23, Molokaigram, NhRenee, and H2OJag to name a few must be in the fossil age.
We remember the MIB Shoot-offs and the many, by todays standards, meets we had.

How IOA TECH was the guardian of the golden C-Clamp that held open the Jurrasic River Ride doors when they were being repaired for what seemed like forever

The days of Barry throwing Banana-gooey cake at himself at Mythos.

How we all knew to ask for Keirin as a waitress at Mythos.

It was fun having the big meet when the Hawaiian Princess came over and we all ate at Mythos and had the big MIB Shoot-off with squid as first prize.

Axtually meeting these people face to face and talking and riding and enjoying a great time.
