That's really awesome they have such a cool theme!! Did you make that cardboard R2 D2?? It looks amazing!! Is one of your boys going to wear it or is it a really cool prop?

Another parent made that as a costume for his son. It is made out of a plastic trash bucket. We used it as a prop at our photo station at the first dance 5 years ago. I kept calling the family to try to give this piece of art back but they never returned my call, so I have had it since then.

That's pretty cool! An instant prop! Can't imagine someone not wanting it back after creating such a costume but maybe they always planned to give it to the school anyways.

So I'm all caught up now. You guys really rocked those costumes and I'm so glad your day was a fun as ours! Did you guys get to meet Steve Sansweet at all? I've heard a ton of interviews with him and would love to meet him some day. He used to be head of fan relations a Lucasfilm and was instrumental in getting the 501st in the Rose Parade. I really want to hear some of those stories!

We loved the mixology class that we did. I wish we had done the one with other DISers. Definitely do it if you can. You might hold off doing a wine flight at dinner on the night you do the Mixology class. Don't ask me how I know I know we will be doing it again on our next cruise.

Thank you!! I thought I would have a hard time but it was thanks to a lot of bobby pins and hairspray that kept it up!

Thank you!! We didn't get to meet Steve Sansweet. I wasn't sure if we would have the opportunity to do so, so we didn't stick around after the presentation. He spoke a little bit about his time at Lucasfilms too. That's awesome about the work he did to get the 501st in the Rose Parade! He didn't mention that!

Thank you!! The mixology was really fun. See if your sailing on the Disboards has someone organizing it. I think if you signup onboard it's a bit more expensive. We had a great time. I am a total lightweight too so I didn't finish all my drinks, but had a healthy portion of each (minus the shot!). The best part about drinking on a cruise is that you don't really have far to go when tipsy! No streets to cross, no driving, no cabs, just walk back to your stateroom! Just don't go overboard!

If you are not a Star Wars fan...I would suggest staying in your stateroom all day or going to the Rainforest room...all day. LOL.

I'm beginning to think I should have made DH call me "Your Worshipness" throughout the day. You know, for the sake of staying in character and all.

I couldn't help but look around at Cabanas at all the Jedi, aliens, siths, bounty hunters, stormtroopers, pretty much everyone dressed in costume eating lunch and having a good time. I thought to myself, this is kinda like Mos Eisley's Cantina!! And they did indeed have the soundtrack playing in Cabanas as well.

Very cool.

Loved all the video clips. Can't wait for more!

Speaking of the guests, there was this one lady there with her husband, and she and Chunkysis had brought the same wardrobe on the cruise. They would literally run into each other every day and they would say to each other, “I have that dress!!” I think they only wore the same thing on the same day later on in the cruise and I have a picture of it too!

My sister is wearing a Her Universe R2 D2 dress which she saw at least 3 other people wearing that day! Too funny.

You achieve the layers by pouring the different liquors over the back of the spoon, thereby diffusing the pour and letting it float on the layer below. It was really cool!

Ugh, so I had typed out an entire update which the Dis Boards then lost! Aack I can't get it back...anyways, so I had to retype it again, and hopefully this version is better than the first one!!

TIp... I always type and save in word and then copy over to post updates. you prevent this from happening that way.

DH got the John Smith's Duck Terrine. It was good if you like pate. He tried to offer some to CS, but she looked at it and made a face.
I couldn't help but say, "Try the grey stuff, it's delicious!!"

I had that issue when I was getting ready for the wedding. I had DH take a picture of it from the back so I could be sure That I had everything right.

Star Wars Day at Sea
Day 5 Part 3: I can't wait to get out of this thing!

It was around 2pm now and I was getting tired of wearing the costume. It was comfy to a certain extent, but the belt kept riding up and my long sleeves were getting caught in everything! We decided that after the costume show, we'll just head back and change so we could catch the early showing of The Force Awakens.

Here was our view standing on Dec 4, waiting for everyone else to arrive.

While up there we met other participants who also got stopped by the same CM.
Oh look we got a Taun Taun!

The CM found us and said that we're just there go though a Q and A about our costumes, or to say a line from a movie that your character has said. The CM told me and Steve that we'd be doing the iconic "I Love You. I know" scene.

Waiting for the celebration to start!

The Atrium got really crowded! Lots of people in costume and spectators as well!!

The party begins and the CM announced that they would be doing a Q and A on the balcony with some of the guests. We were the first ones to be interviewed!

I called New Jersey "Alderaan"! LOL

It was a lot of fun and we were happy to be part of the show! Here are some pictures I took of the gathering down below. They also interviewed people on Deck 3 and then all the kids got together for pictures. It was very neat to see all the costumes!

Ashoka Tano made an appearance too!

After the gathering we thought we should take a couple more pictures before taking off the outfits for good! We took some with the Shutters photographer on the black background before heading outside to take our own pictures.

On the way outside, we ran into quite possibly the cleverest costume ever...Matt the Radar Technician!! If you have no idea what I'm talking about you have to watch the Saturday Night Live skit with Adam Driver as Kylo Ren in Undercover Boss. It's hilarious!

Now finally it was time to take off the Leia Outfit! It was a humid day so wearing it outdoors was a bit too hot. CS kept her dress for the day though since she liked it so much.

That was awesome. Way to improvise Were all of the people in costumes guests? Boba Fett, Darth Vader, and Ahsoka Tano look really awesome. You guys had some really nice costumes too. I figured the whole cruise would be 501st and Rebel Alliance members, but your costumes really stood out as very well put together.

The seller I got the necklace from is lapinkrouge
She's really nice and she custom made the necklace because I wanted her to add an extra square. I don't like necklaces that are choker style so wanted to make sure I would be comfy all day. Looking back I don't think I needed to do it but it was fine in any case.

The seller I got the belt from is Dollyiance
She also custom makes the belt according to the length you specify.

What are Kinder Eggs?

They are those chocolate surprise eggs that have toys in them. They aren't sold in the US so you have to get them in other countries like Mexico and Canada. My nieces loved them!
