Hi All,
First of all Happy Thanksgiving!
We have just booked this cruise yesterday!
Travelling will be Myself, My Other Half, My 7 year old daughter and 3 year old son..
It will be the children's first disney cruise.
So far they do not know and I have not figured out how to tell them yet...
I would love to be involved in the FE and the ornament exchange if it is still possible, but a wee small question, why kind of gifts do you give for the fe?

Someone may also be able to answer another question for me, I read that tsa do not like you to wrap up any gifts before boarding? Is this correct as I would like to try and wrap up what I can before leaving the uK to travel...
Also we will be bringing a small tree with battery operated lights, is this allowed?
Lots of questions I am afraid...

We will 22 of my family members on board, so we will just be doing our own FE group. I wanted to know, however, if this group will be having any other meet-ups on board so that our kids can meet. (This might have been posted, but I didn't see it.) Is the Google Docs Roll Call just for those who are partiicpating in the FE Exchange or the Ornament Exchange?

If you check wrapped presents, you will probably be fine. If you carry them on, and they can't tell what they are when scanned, they will make you unwrap them. Often happens with wedding gifts like leaded crystal, electronics.

Fake tree is okay - no live ones.

Welcome! The Google Docs Roll Call is for FE and Ornament exchange. You just put yes or no in those spots if you are participating in them or not. I'm not sure about the meet-ups. I have a DD that is 11 and a DS that is 5.

For those of you wondering:
I have contacted DCL to request a space for our group to occupy. With the holiday this week I have yet to be contacted by a rep.
I will update here as well as the FB page with the info of date/time/location.
A couple people have asked how we will exchange & whether there will be "stealing". Everyone will place their boxed/wrapped ornament on the same table/bar and they will draw a paper with a number on it.
We will choose ornaments according to the number and when all the ornaments have been exchanged you can meet your "giftor & giftee".
There are several families and children participating so I feel that we should not "steal" to avoid disappointment. Also, this group has gotten large, so the process of stealing could take quite some time.
Hopefully I can get some more details for us from DCL soon.
Now, back to decorating for Christmas!

We placed a hold last night and plan to beg for the 21st off work when I head in tomorrow. We recognize some of your names from the Christmas 2010 Cruise and New Year's Cruise 2011. This will be our 6th Disney Cruise. Please, please (practicing the begging) let us in on the FE. We see the cut off was yesterday, but just spent this morning reading through the thread. My daughter will be so disappointed to miss out. Would you like us to add our name to the google docs at this point?

Fingers crossed, looking forward to another Disney Christmas cruise!

I have been missing from disboards for several months due to family medical crisis. Things are improving now and we are looking forward to our family Christmas cruise.

I have a question about FE exchange. I know that I have missed the signup deadline, but we would still like to participate in GIVING FEs. I do understand that we are too late to be included in receiving FEs. I have added our names to the google list, with my cabin number. (We have three cabins close to each other).

I need to catch up with reading all the posts, but I thought that I would check in here first to make sure that would be ok with everyone.

We will be at Moody Gardens Hotel the night before the cruise and plan to be in the lobby bar/lounge. Hope to see you there.

Looks like we have a few folks from the 2010 Xmas/NYE Magic onboard

We noticed another name was added today to the Google Spreadsheet that was not there as of "last night." We ordered our FE gifts as per the deadline count on Nov 23. We need to somehow make sure that no one else is being added to the FE list on the spreadsheet. As of Nov 23, there were 30 FE cabins listed and now there are 32 cabins. We don't know what to do now because we have already placed our order for part of our FE gifts and we can't change it. Can someone please give us your thoughts on this because we don't know what to do now since we can't change our order for our FE gifts.

EVERYONE is welcome to our disMEET UP at 3:00 at the Promenade Lounge on deck 3. This a great time to put a face to your disname and get acquainted with your fellow Christmas cruisers. Children, and your friends and family are all welcome.

I will bring a pack of name tags to make it easier! If you'd like to identify yourself earlier, wear a red ribbon or red bracelet on your wrist. I'll have extras on me if you forget.

If you want to get the party started, then come early! Running too late, let's congregate to the LEFT side of the stage (facing) during the sail away party.

FE PARTICIPANTS: Please bring your stateroom changes to the meet. This is the best time to help the organizer with your information. We want to be able to find you!

I could not remember the other two stateroom numbers, but one is across the hall, and the other is two doors down from mine, and we will all have the same ginormus red sparkly bow on the door.

I am one of the new names on the list. As I indicated in my earlier post, since I signed us up after the deadline we are not expecting to receive FEs, but we do want to GIVE them. it is a tradition for us and part of the holiday spirit.

So, I would like to be included when the FE list is given out.

Welcome! I'm not in charge of the FE list but I personally don't see anything wrong with you and your friends joining. The more the merrier.
