A Little Something Special

So we decided to add an additional day to our trip to So Cal and will have a little more time then planned. The first day in the Parks I want to spend doing some of the things we have never gotten a chance to see (Alladin or WOC or the Fireworks, etc). Usually we just do the rides and avoid the crowds at these events (other then a view parades).

I ALSO want to do a little something special with the kids that night. We have eaten at Blue Bayou and we have been to Goofy's Kitchen twice. What else would you recommend? I was looking at FANTASMIC dessert or WOC at Ariel's Grotto. Either of these worth the time/money or something else that is a must see? Or just save my money and see the shows without anything extra?? It will be me, DD 14, and DS 6.

Have you ever seen F! or the fireworks?

You could do a WoC meal but I'd only suggest it if you want the food, it is not a great time saver or chance at a better view.

I have never sat still for the fireworks; I have seen them from rides or walking around or from the parking lot.

I have never seen F! (shocking, I know) ;). If I did this, any recommendation for the special seating or just finding a spot good enough?

Thanks for the info on WOC. I also have never seen this; it was just being built during our last trip. I think we have to choose between F! and WOC too due to time.

You may want to see WoC early, and F! later. Doing this can let you get a great spot for both shows. It's also possible to do WoC, then fireworks, then F!. Doing all three in a row let you get a great WoC view, ok for fireworks, and good for F!.

The key to WoC is to show up early about 15 minutes early to the color zone meeting place and when let into Paradise Park take any open spot near a rail so your view is unobstructed.

For F! if you get there early you can get around the first show's crowd and wait by Splash then take a great spot as the first show's crowd leaves.

If you go from WoC to fireworks, you have to watch from the back of Paradise Park and as soon as it end get in the front of the crowd to exit the park and hop over to DL. Then once in DL take the first spot you can find on Main Street.

Then when the fireworks are over, quickly get up to the castle and get around the F!'s first show crowd the is flooding into the crowded hub. Get into Frontierland and take one of thier spots.

Thanks for all the great tips!

I read a couple of the other threads as well. I think for our "something special" I am going to make reservations for the Perferred Seating (dessert) for F! If we can fit in WOC too; then great, but sounds like the dining ahead is no biggie and we can always catch it when we come back in the Fall if we miss this time. I mean it only took me 20 years to see F! :rotfl:

I called in to make reservations today and was told I am a little early so guess I will call back Sunday. The countdown is on!

Is there a thread about the best locations to sit/stand for Fantasmic?

There is a pretty good one, the Fantasmic Superthread, it's comprehensive.

It may be the way to go, but take a lot of time and you probably won't be able to see WoC in the same night. Read the link above for imformation about the F! Dessert Package.
