We are staying at the DLH, first time in years. With the new security measures, where do we go through security now? If we want to go to the GCH for dinner from the parks, and then walk back to the DLH, can we go through security at the GCH to allow us into DTD?

Second, do I scan my ticket with the Disneyland App to put it into my phone? From there if I order MaxPass once my ticket it activated at the front gates?

As you head toward DTD from DLH, security is now right before DTD near ESPN zone and Earl of Sandwich. To get into GCH, enter through DTD. You can go back this way as well. The only thing you can't do is enter GCH from the main entrance.

Yes, you scan your ticket into the Disneyland App. Be sure you are logged in. Then select "My Tickets" then "Link a Ticket or Pass" - center the barcode in the viewer and voila! This is where you can add a name for the ticket - I would do that and then write that name on the ticket so you don't mix up whose is whose once you get to the park.

Once you scan into the park, open back up the app and select "Get Fast Pass" then follow the instructions to complete the MaxPass purchase. This is much faster/easier if you have preloaded a method of payment into your account and remember your Disney password.

The security screening is at the end of DownTown Disney, so to go from Disneyland Hotel you just walk over to where Downtown Disney starts. The security check is before ESPN

To go to Grand California Hotel from the park you have 3 options
1. Take the Monorail from Tomorrowland to Downtown Disney
2. Exit the Main Park through the Main Street USA exit

Both of these options you then walk through Downtown Disney and into the Grand California Hotel. You will not have to go through a security check as you are already in the Disney Bubble

3. In California Adventures there is an entrance into The Grand California Hotel. You will have to show your dinner reservation to enter the hotel this way.

When you exit after your dinner, you will exit through the DownTown Disney exit. You will have to go through a bag check security area when you leave the Grand California Hotel and re enter Downtown Disney

The only entrance you have to show your dinner reservation to enter the hotel is the main entrance......which you wouldn't be using anyway. From the parks enter the hotel directly from DCA (over by grizzly) or the DTD entrance to the hotel. From / to the DLH use the DTD entrance.....it's easy!

You're correct. Anyone can exit from DCA to GCH at any time.

FYI: the first week of August, we used the security checkpoint at the end of Downtown Disney, by the Disneyland Hotel, multiple times at all different times of day (including early for rope drop) and there was never any wait.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Thank you all soooo very much. I'm a bit rusty on all things Disneyland. I'm very glad to know about the new security locations, and that I can still exit DCA through the GCH exit. Thank you!!
