a little O/T - mary poppins!

well, it is mildly O/T but it is still disney related!!

went to see mary poppins in birmingham last night. wasnt hugely looking forward to it, as love the film and cudnt see how the musical wud be.............

it was great!!!!!!!!!!!! some things obviously changed, and was a lil disappointed that step in time on the rooftops the dancing wasnt as elaborate as in the film... but overall it was very good, and the main characters were brilliant - maybe bert the best of the 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if anyone gets the chance, go n see it - kept my disney fix going for a bit longer anyhow!!

I really wish i had seen this when it was on at the West End, DD would of loved it, she loves the film.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the MP stage show was made much truer to the original book and is therefore quite a lot "darker" than the films. I think it may even have carried a warning about under 7's due to the changes, although I could be wrong.

yes, there is a bit about the toys that was dark and wud scare kids (wished i had my two with me so maybe theyd take note!)
i havent read the book, so might have to try and get it to see it.
definately worth a look if u can!

We saw it in the West End. It was fab! I thought the cast was wonderful (Mary Poppins and the children especially). Well worth going to see it!

I'd really love to see 'The Sound of Music' but somehow can't justify spending lots of money on the tickets and then Mia says she doesn't want to go...
