A little help...how did you meet your DIS Partner?

As for finding your Disney Prince or Princess...still looking for mine I don't know if it's easier to find a Disney loving woman...I just think woman are more open about it because it's accepted that women like princess and Disney. Men who like Disney aren't seen as very manly...LOL. But who cares!!

Not quite sure I agree with this statement....I don't particularly care for the Princesses, Tigger is my fav after Mickey. My DH loves Disney...but is very manly. He is also a Dive Instructor (Scuba) for fun. Like I said earlier...find a Disney FRIEND and things will fall into place if they are meant to be. Don't force it, tho.

Loving Disney as a man doesn't mean you're a sissy, it just means you have an imagination and can revert back to your inner child easily. It means you are more well-rounded than the man who just sits on the couch, watches every football game in a wife-beater undershirt with his friends and yells for another beer!

A nice girl with the screen name mdhkitten started a singles thread. Alacrity was a friend on that thread. About 20 of us chatted off and on the Thread and in Dismates. At least 5 Weddings came out of that Thread. We met in person for the first time at the Magical Express Desk in MCO, had Ghirardellis for our first meal together, met 20 of the Chat Members later that year to run MK EMH, dated at Disney (He was in Illinois, I was in Texas),got engaged in AK, got married at the Wedding Pavilion 10/10/2007. Don't be afraid of Long Distance Relationships. Everything happens for a Reason! Look for new Disney FRIENDS....the rest will fall into place.

Dont be afraid of a LDR. They take work, but with technology that is available, it is easier than ever to keep in touch. It is also possible to be almost anywhere in the world by plane within a day. Please don't be afraid to get into a relationship just because the other person doesn't live in the same city, state, or country.

Believe it or not, I met my Disney loving guy on Match.com. I just didn't know he was Disney-loving when I met him. Our first date was in Epcot. It was awesome. He owns an annual pass now and we are perfectly happy. He endures my obsession, and I tolerate his general like. We are in perfect harmony.

I agree. I would rather have a Disney loving guy then a guy who sits on the couch yelling for beer. My ideal guy loves Disney, but can also sit and watch football. This is while I am next to him, surfing the net, drinking wine, and he is looking longingly into my eyes. They do exist, but are a little harder to find.

Once I had reached my teen years, I did get out of the Disney craze a little so that was never a criteria for me. My husband and I met 11 years ago. We started off in the AOL chat room! I did grow up going to WDW every year. Not sure how I got back into the Disney craze, I don't think you ever fully leave it! I believe we had watched an episode on the History Channel about it. Anyways, in 2003 my husband and I went to WDW, for his 1st time! Ever since then we have been hooked! We went back in 2005 for our honeymoon, and from there went back in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 and I am already talking about going back again this year!

Don't worry, I am sure you will find someone who shares your same love for WDW!

I am a 38 year old single female that is asked a million times from co-workers and guys I have dated, "why do you like Disney isn't that for kids" or my favorite "why do you go every year you should not have to go back." Now since they are my co-workers I have to be nice and I have replied back to them "why do you like camping every weekend in the summer." or I say to a few "why do you go to every packer home game." To the guys I have dated I have told them "why do you play softball, why do you always have to... (fill in the blank). "

I agree with most that it is hard to find someone who can be open minded about my love for Disney. They way I see it and as I have seen others post it, those that don't like Disney or get it, then that is one less person in the parks when I go. So yes I have kissed some frogs and none have turned into my prince but a girl can hope.

Oh, my parents have been married for 43 years and both love Disney, I live in a neighborhood where 4 couples/or families are all Disney families; you should see us at the holidays So they princesses and prince's are out there, just have to keep looking.

for me it was about finding someone who was open minded about going. she didn't need to get why i love disney so long as she is happy that it's something that makes me happy. and that's worked for us.

plus, she has an amazing time when we go down there. i guess, so long as she's happy that it makes me happy. and is happy when we go, that's all that matters to me.

our first trip, i took her to the HDR, and she was so skeptical, but i have some wonderful pics of her beaming wile playing the wash board. it was a great i told ya so moment.

This is how it is with my DH. He hadn't been to Disney since it was only MK, so I had to show him everything in a long weekend. He doesn't love it like I do, but he knows it's my happy place and indulges me. I have gotten him to wear Mickey ears (albeit, they were Frankenstein for Halloween) and he seems to be taking to it more each time. He ran the marathon last year and got a kick out of all the characters and entertainment.

You just need somene who's willing to go. I personally don't understand people who have been to Disney and don't like it. How can you NOT like it?

I'm still looking for my Disney Prince. It's been hard, most guys just don't understand my love of Disney.

Though if I find him, I might have to give up the solo trips in return, lol. Sometimes it's just nice to do what you want to do, when you want to do it! But it would be nice to have someone to share it all with as well!

You are right on the mark there about things falling into place and not forcing it! And I think to that when you aren't looking for it, it will find you. My BF has found me (again) and the 16 years we have been apart and doing other things has done us both a lot of good. And Disney was where we got back together.

From another point of view, if I were in my 20's & 30's, yes it would be easier for me to find a Princess. But as a guy who celebrated his 50th birthday at Disney, it is much tougher to find a Disney Princess. I have met a few, but for a variety of reasons, the relationships didn't last. It might be easier to find a woman who can accept that her 50+ man can enjoy regular visits to Disney and still be a good life-partner.

I have used that same response for years, usually picking a popular vacation spot near where I live at the time. Non-Disney folk don't realize for us, visiting Disney on an annual basis is no different than visiting Cape Cod, Maryland's Eastern Shore, the Outer Banks, or any other vacation destination on an annual basis. If I went to one of those places on a regular basis, no one would give it a second thought.

Just my thoughts on a Sunday morning while enjoying my first coffee of the day.

I love hearing happy ending stories that involve Disney, or seeing proposals while there. Haha of course both make me so entirely jealous! I have yet to find that prince in a man yet too! I'm a female and most guys think it is ridiculous how much I love Disney, especially the parks because I am not a child anymore. I can definitely understand why you want a Disney loving partner, but don't worry about it too much! What's more important is finding someone who can EMBRACE that part of you, and enjoy doing DIS things WITH you!

My husbands go-to vacation spot used to be Hawaii....until I made him take me to Disney World. Now, he would rather go to Disney than Hawaii! And my obsession of collectibles has taken over all the cabinets in the entertainment center and the bathroom is decorated in full-on Mickey (great line at Target, BTW).

Who knows, you could turn them into a DIS'er afterall!
