If you had a little more money for your trip, what would you do with it? We can spend a bit more this time, up to $500 more. We can't add extra time, since my dh is a teacher and we're limited to his school schedual. We'll (hopefully) be there April 16th or 17th to the 23rd or 24th. We considered spending it on our room (we're going to stay value - ASmo, hopefully), but decided we'd rather try something new instead. FYI we're a family of 4 with two ds, 4 and 2.

So what would you do with an extra $500 burning a hole in your pocket at the World?

Have you been before?

If you haven't I would stay at ASM(your kids will love it) because you will be spending alot of time in the parks. I would use it for pictures, souvineers, character meals, and really anything your little heart desired but normally wouldn't splurge on.

I'd try a fireworks or illuminations cruise. They run about $170-$350 depending on the type of boat. If not, I think I'd move up to the moderates with the extra money - they have better pools and a sit down restaurant. Isn't it fun to have extra money?

I think I would go for a moderate or maybe even WL with the extra cash. Kids LOVE pools, and those resorts have nicer pools. I'd go for the WL if you can find a good rate/within $500 extra. AND you'd have a ferry boat to MK!

Another idea (if you have a car) might be something like Discovery Cove at Sea World. I know, not Disney, but still... I'd love to do that someday and it's quite pricey. I bet the kids would love it!

You guys are fast! These are some great suggestions.

Hockey Mom, we have gone before and stayed ASMo, and LOVED it. This time we're planning a non-park day just to hang out at the resort, swim, and eat at Boma.

DisneyMom and Kristi, we considered an upgrade (years ago dh and I stayed at POR when it was Dixie Landings for our honeymoon, and would love to go there again or AKL or WL), but I think we'll wait until the boys are older since ds4 loves ASMo so much. We may upgrade if we find a great rate we just can't pass up, or if we can't stay at ASMo (can't get a res through Disney.com, so am still looking around).

neos, anything in particular at DTD? Or just "stuff," which is always fun!

We won't have a car this trip.

Hmmmn, an illuminations cruise? Where do I find out more/ book this? Is it loud? My ds4 hates loud.

And yes, it is so much fun!:hyper:

Any more suggestions?

I would definitely splurge on upgrading your room. Since your children are young, I'm not sure they would appreciate the Illuminations cruises. I would, however, recommend for your non-park day going to one of the resorts on Seven Seas Lagoon and renting the water sprites...they are a BLAST!

How about a night out for mom and dad? In room baby sitting is available. If you dont feel comfortable with sitting service then try a dinner show,Hoop de doo or poly luau. Another thought might be a special tour.
:wave2:

Good for you! This upcoming trip is the first one we have more money than we "need", so we have added some extra fun stuff. BTW---my DH is a teacher, too, but year-round scheduling is helping us go at great off-season times.

I would suggest:
1. Water park, if not already scheduled.
2. HUGE vote for renting water sprites or even a larger whole-family boat. We are doing this on the Seven Seas lagoon so we can go near the MK and other resorts.
3. Add a character meal.
4. Illuminations or Wishes cruise ($135 including tax I believe).
5. Second the idea of a parents night out!!! "Pay yourself first" philosophy. We went to Jellyrolls for the first time in September, and it's a must-do from now on.
6. Send the boys on the Pirate's Cruise (if they take 2 year olds)
7. How about the hayride at Fort. Wilderness

That's enough for now! I'm sure the experts will give you tons of great advice (which I look forward to eavesdropping on!!!).
