A Little DVC Board Fun :)

0.11 since Dec 06. Read quite a few, rarely post. I did used to get sucked in to some threads with Dumbo and UConn a few years back when SSR was taking some of the beating that BLT is taking now. Good times!! Most all on the DVC Boards.

Oh I remember that Dumbo guy...I don't miss him. He seemed to his own opinion & nobody elses. There was that other guy too...Greenman or Greenban or something Green...

I hit 30,000! Most of my posts are single words on the Games board. I enjoy the "change one letter" threads. There are a few people I've "met" there and when we're on together, we just post and post.

Dumbo75... never really understood his agenda, but Greenban... not sure what happened there. He seemed like a good person. I too have had my "warnings" and went too far a couple times arguing with the mods over policy. So I can imagine maybe what happened. The mods allowed me to return and I am trying to be a well behaved and "respectful" citizen of the community and moderators.

Oops... seems I have a little bit of some brown something on my nose there.

I have no insight! One of my DFs Meriweather, went 80,000 posts before she got a tag. She does do DVC boards, but is very active on the Exchange board. That's another place I post. We're planning a meet for December 2011, heck we've been planning for about 6 months already!

80K... That is not encouraging... I doubt she's ever spent time on the naughty mat either. Good luck with your meet. It is always cool to hookup with other DIS members.

There's usually an exchange or two going on. Right now, there's a "summer pin exchange" that's in the final days.

I've participated in 3 or 4 since the spring. The first was a "Flower and Garden." You sign up and agree to pay around $15, not including postage to send something to your "partner." You will be assigned this person after the allotted sign up period. Among the things I received were gladioli bulbs and I have been enjoying them as cut flowers for the past 4 weeks. Another exchange I participated in was "Green." I got some reusable wash towels from Trader Joes, many reuseable grocery bags, 2 refillable water bottles, and some notbook made from "stone" that's quite smooth.

Sometimes you get things that you really don't need. There's even a "regift" exchange, so you can pass these things along. But, I think it's all in good fun. Once we had a newspaper exchange, and I got some from a town in the United Kingdom.

There are also sometimes need for an "elf." Someone doesn't send as they promised. This doesn't happen often, thank heavens.

There are about 6-8 of us so far who want to meet in December 2011, dates are on the exchange board. Come join if you like, or lurk, or begin by answering mommytotwo's question of the day. That's how I got started. Mommytotwo lives in Hawaii

Though I go in waves. I frequently stop in and read, but my posting trend is a bell curve with the height of the curve being tied squarely to a planned visit.

Usually spend 98% of that time in the DVC area versus others.
