We are about a month away from booking our first DVC trip. Some posts on here have led me to believe I can only book 7 days at a time and must call back the next day to add a day, and repeat until I get the number of days I want.....is this correct?

We're planning on staying at the VGF for 13 nights, and I hope I can just book them all at once.....

Which way is correct?! :wizard:

If you are booking a reservation that is fully inside the window of 11 months for your home resort or fully inside the window of 7 months for all the other resorts, as long as you have enough points, you can book as many days as you want.

The other posts you are reading have to do with when you book on the first day of the 11 or 7 month period. Then, it is 7 days out.

I am sure someone else will explain better.......

You are correct but I would like to add one condition.
You could book all 13 days at your home resort at 11 months minus 6 days or non-home at 7 months minus 6 days.
EX: Book OKW home resort for 13 days for stay June 1 - 13, 2015
Book all days at once on June 6, 2014.

At exactly 11 months out from date of arrival, you cannot book more than 7 nights. Thus, if you call tomorrow, Nov 29, you could book Oct 29 arrival to Nov 5 departure for a 2014 trip but not the night of Nov 5 or beyond. However as long as your departure date is no more than 11 months plus 7 days from the date you call, you can book as many days as you want (with the caveat that the on-line reservation system limits you to 14 nights, and thus if you want more you need to call MS).

The same limitations apply when trying a non-home resort at 7 months out in that you are limited to an end date that is no more that 7 months plus 7 days from the date you are making the reservation.

As a result what many do if they want more than the allowed 7 nights at exactly 11 (or 7) months out, is reserve 7 nights and then call daily every day after the first call and add additional nights.

Now you need to be aware of something suggested by your post. It sounds like you will be attempting to reserve time at end of Nov and into first part of December 2014. That would mean you will be seeking a reservation during the highest DVC demand time of the year. If you are intending to get a VGF studio during that time, you not only better be prepared to do the 7 night and then add a night daily exercise but you better be prepared to be on-line at exactly 8 a.m. Eastern at exactly 11 months out from date of arrival to make the initial 7 night reservation because VGF studios could be gone for the first day you want before 9 a.m. at exactly 11 months out because of their limited number and likely extremely high demand during the period you want.

You can book the first 7 days as soon as your window opens at 8am online.

If you get that booking, then you will need to book the next 6 days one day at a time, starting on day 2 of your original booking period, by calling MS at 9am or opening time.

If you were not in that end of November/early December time frame, you could probably take a chance on booking in two calls.

I wouldn't risk it if that was the reservation I wanted.

You can book 2 weeks all at once - but only if there is availability. Not likely at your chosen resort.

Oh, by the way - all of this advice is contingent on you being an owner.
