A little confused? Annual Dues Statement due in OCTOBER

We recently bought 80 points at Vero Beach (In July). Today we got an Annual Dues Statement for payment due 10/01/11. The use year on all our contracts (BWV & WLV ) are the same....December, and we typically get out Annual Dues Statements in January. Can someone please shed some light on my as to why I'm receiving the dues statement for this one resort in August, instead of December/January? Of course, the offices are closed for the weekend!

Did you buy resale or direct? If resale, there should be something in your paperwork regarding who owes 2011 dues. If direct, you owe pro-rated dues for 2011. Dues are based on calendar year, not use year.

Yeah, we bought direct from Disney, but I don't remember getting pro-rated dues for when we bought into Wilderness Lodge the same way? It's just $250.99, but then we'll get another dues statement from them in January? I'm the one who takes care of the bills and such, I guess I just don't remember doing this before.....must be my old-timer's disease.

The dues billiing you received is for the 2011 VB dues from your date of purchase to December 31, 2011. You will receive another dues statement for 2012.

As the previous poster noted, dues are based on the standard calendar year and have nothing to do with use year.

Did you buy VWL towards the end of the year? It's possible they rolled it into the next year's bill. They don't bill it until after closing.

The annual dues are prorated from your purchase date to the end of the year.
