A Little Bit of Dis and a Little Bit of Dad-Updated 1/24 One Week From Today

I love your dad's definition of exotic food! Most of the men I know have the same view...I guess it's from being raised on steak and potatos.

Tepan Edo is one of my favorites...yummy.

I know, right? He thinks he is really stepping outside of the box when he eat Chinese or Japanese. :confused3

So some of you may remember that a couple of weeks ago it dawned on me that I can go to some "grown up" restaurants this time since my picky kids won't be with me. I have heard sooo many good things about Narcoossee's surf and turf (which would be right up my dad's alley) and it is a place I have always wanted to try. On a whim, I looked to see if I could get a reservation around Wishes for our second night.

I don't care about being seated, I just want to be over there to watch it from the deck, then have a nice dinner. I was able to score a reservation for 7:45pm with wishes happening at 8pm that night. That night is EMH at Magic Kingdom, so if Dad is in the mood (and if dinner doesn't last too long) we can head back over after dinner.

So, 2 weeks from tonight, I will be seeing this:

I bought the cutest cargo pants/capris for $10 each! Now, technically I can't use them as pants (unrolled) or they are about 10 inches too long, but when they are rolled up and buttoned as capris, they hit me about 1/2 inch higher than my pants do so I'm not sure what to call them. :confused3

this happens to me, too, since i'm on the short side. the term i use is "floods." super cute, by the way!

When dad and mom took us to Disney the first time, we drove down in the family station wagon ( I didn't fly for the first time until I was 18) and they sat through time share presentations to get the tickets while we got to hang out in the arcade or the pool. I don't think I could, or would sit through time share presentations every morning for 4 days to take my family to Disney World and Sea World. Would YOU??

my dad did this, too! there were 5 of us in my family and i guess this was a way that he could afford to take us to disney, universal and sea world every trip. no way would i do that now! we are so lucky to have such good dads! :goodvibes

teppan edo on your first night is an excellent choice! just avoid the green tea martini....it tastes like cough syrup!

YUM!!!!!! we LOVE narcoosee's! i'm actually going to miss it next trip. we want to try some other 2 TS places (cali grill and flying fish) because we always do narcoosee's. so we're having to sacrifice it. i'm sure you guys will love it. and wishes from there is SO awesome! if you get a window seat, you may be able to sit there during the show because they will lower the lights and pipe in the music. but sometimes people will go out on the deck and get in front of your view. they actually encourage you to get up and go outside to watch it. so it's not a big deal to just walk out there anyway.

here's some pics for ya!

Nice! Remember it's a 2 TS credit meal.

Thanks Jordan. I have decided to pay oop for our two breakfast ressies as:

#1 they are the cheapest
#2 dad may decide to drop his breakfast fascination when he discovers how much food there is with the dining plan

I may have to borrow this term! :lmao:

Definitely! When I think about it now, I feel guilty for whining about going to the pool or arcade. We has a lot more fun then they did listening to a sales pitch. :rotfl:

:eek:I actually remember this from reading your TR. I will make sure to avoid it!

I am really excited about this one. I am planning to order the crab cakes, along with the surf and turf. I have a feeling we won't be seated until after wishes, but we will go on the balcony and watch anyway. :thumbsup2

Made it over.

Less than 2 weeks now, I am excited for you. You will have a blast.

I'm checking in! Your surprise for your dad is so sweet! :lovestruc It will be so fun reading about your trip! I love your Princess bed pics! So sweet of Dawn to donate the art work! :goodvibes What color are you going to paint? I like the color you have already.

We're painting my kitchen and dining room yellow - it turned out kind of "Disney yellow" - that was sort of the idea, although I was planning on the yellow being a shad lighter - I have Disney in my kitchen - it's turning out to be a big project - now we're painting the living room a coordinating lt yellow - kind of buttercream - I'm not sure how I'll really end of decorating the dining room and living room when I'm done - hadn't thought that far ahead!

Happy Planning!

Welcome! :worship: Happy to have another Disney Veteran here! I am wanting to paint a very light shade of gray (similiar to the castle walls). I really liked the room color until the pictures and the new headboard went up, then it didn't look right. There are several other pictures (also from Dawn) around the room as well, and a giant framed puzzle of Cinderella Castle. Dawn sent me her pics digitally and then I had them blown up to 8 x 10 for framing. I love it! I feel like a Princess when I go to bed at night. princess:

Your almost to single digits:cool1::cool1:

Those crab cakes look good:worship:

I know, I can hardly stand it! I opened my planner at work this morning and checked over my week and saw "check in online for DISNEY!!" It seems like a million years ago that I wrote that in. :sad2:

I am drooling over Dawn's pictures. My DH said I have to stay off of the food porn site b/c I keep making him hungry. I'm actually thinking this is a good plot to get him to go during the F & W Festival. :rolleyes1

It's 8 a.m. and I want steak...all because of Dawn's yummy picture.

I know, right? Last night we were watching the Food Network while I was looking at Disney food online. NOT SMART!! I can't wait to go just so I can eat! :rotfl2:

If it will get you another trip to disney, keep going there;):rotfl:

Time does go by too fast, doesn't it? I still feel like I just got back from my trip in 2006 (the last time we went with the people we're going with this year). I can't believe that was 4 years ago already:sad2:
