A Little BCV Info...

I was talking with a women who works at the BC. She said that the BCV are completely finished on the outside and they are putting up the drywall on the inside right now. Has anyone seen it lately?

She also said there has been no official announcement yet, but they are ahead of schedule and expect to open earlier than planned.

Sounds like an announcement will be coming soon. With VWL sales ending soon, it looks like BCV sales may be beginning around Feb. I hope there is a presale incentive. Any speculation about how far they are ahead of schedule????.......several months???

Although the outside facade of the building is "near completion", I do not think that BCV will open any sooner than Summer 2002. As much as I'd like for it to open in the next few months, I think that it would be "wishful thinking".

Last fall, DVC moved the "unofficial" estimated opening to summer 2002. No firm date has been announced at all yet, allowing for some flexibility in the resort's completion.

DVC will likely announce opening and reservation information in the next few months- if not sooner.

As with VWL, it is possible that the resort may open for cash reservations prior to accepting any point ressies. VWL opened in Nov, but point reservation weren't accepted for dates earlier than mid Jan- when the first DVC contracts closed.

Just drove by BCV before leaving this afternoon. They are NOT finished on the exterior, the wing next to the parking lot is still being worked on as well as some roof work and balconies. Haven't begun to work on landscaping, either.

Thanks for the information Kem330. I guess the CM that works at BC hasn't taken a close look.

Sometimes it is really interesting what we hear from CM's. I was talking to one yesterday at CRO and asked her for the heck of it if there was any information in their computer on an opening date for BCV. She told me that it said they have stopped any construction and put the resort on hold since 9/11. I know that is not true also.

"When Disney's Beach Club Villas opens, Disney's Beach Club Resort will no longer be available as part of The Disney Collection. This allows us to remain consistent with what we have done in the past (for example, Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Disney's Wilderness Lodge are not included in The Disney Collection). Reservations for Disney's Beach Club Resort through The Disney Collection will be accepted for stays up to and including August 31, 2002. The resort is not available through The Disney Collection for stays as of September 1, 2002. Disney's Yacht Club Resort will continue to be available as an exchange option. "

It sounds like a September 1,2002 opening date (at least for DVC reservations and closings) is a possibility. This would be consistent with how VWL was handled and would allow for a summer 2002 BCV resort opening for cash reservations, with DVC point reservations following a short while later.

If they are going to allow reservations by points beginning Sept, 2002-any idea when they will begin taking those reservation? We are thinking of going in Oct and I would love to stay at the Beach Club Villas
