My wife and i along with my 2yr old daughter will have one day with no agenda while waiting on some other family to arrive. i would love to surprise them with a day full of fun stuff. It would be great to have some mixed ideas

Are you planning to go into the park or stay out???

There is always DTD with shopping and Cirque. You guys could check out the Boardwalk. Have you considered treating them to a mother/daughter spa treatment?? (I'm not talking the whole works, maybe a mom/dau manicure) And then take them out to a special dinner?

I had a day in Vegas where all of my girlfriends left at 8am and my flight didn't leave until 10 PM!! My goal for the day was to do things as cheap as possible. I had no plan of attack, but I ended up getting a free make-over, participated in a test audience, saw some free street acts. You might be able to find things like that to do around the World.

I'd start with a character breakfast.

You didn't say if you would have park tickets or not. If you already have tickets and are not using the max of 10 day, then it might be nice to go to MK and get familarized a bit before the rest of the family arrives. Upgrading a 5 or more day ticket costs very little about $3.

If you are looking for other ideas, DTD has some neat shopping. Once Upon a Toy Store will be a hit-Potato Heads with Disney pieces and My Little Ponies with princess costumes and accessories. There is also a Lego store with some neat creations outside that you can have your picture taken with.

A character breakfast would be a lot of fun. We enjoy spending our days off at the pool and then we'll head to Downtown Disney in the afternoon.

I'd say breakfast or lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table at the castle if you can get an ADR. If not, Akershus in Norway at Epcot is a good substitute. My DD was 2 at her 1st trip, the only princess she was crazy about pre-trip was Cinderella, BUT we took her to Akershus and ever since she has been all Princess, all the time. At 3 this May, we took her to CRT and she loved it. She was very impressed with actually being in the castle.

On our down day, we enjoyed renting a Boston Whaler boat at the Contemporary and rode around Bay Lake. It was a fun time and less that $40 for a half hour ride.

Downtown Disney and a trip to visit a few resorts like Ft Wilderness and All Star Movies made a pretty exciting day for my kids. If I remember correctly, I think DTD had a water feature they could play in.

Has DD had her 1st haircut yet if not the Barber Shop in the MK would be a neat place to take DD an DW both for hair cuts but does require a park ticket an there are no appointments at the barber shop. They really make a big thing of a kids 1st hair cut an they get mickey ears an stickers an lots of attention while gettin hair cut.

Yes DD has the pop up water fountain near the entrance where the disney bus drop off is kids are free to play there an have loads of fun on hot days I've seen a few big kids there too.....
