A late night infomercial question

We got the thing that you plant the tomatos in upside down. Yea did not work!!:furious:

Recently at about 3A after watching the infomercial for Shark Vacuum, I bought one. Love it! :thumbsup2

I ordered plants from QVC yesterday, does that count?:lmao: It was from Cottage Farms and it was 3 butterfly bushes that ship in the spring. I could not help it.

Right now I want to order the NO NO and the Luminess Air (airbrush make up deal). :rotfl:
We love the plants from QVC. They are usually pretty good and definitely great with the money back if there's an issue. :thumbsup2

So I looked up the No No because I'm dying to try it too. Pull up the reviews on Amazon. Sounds like a big waste of money and they aren't friendly with that money back guarantee. I think I'll pass on that one. :(

I've been wanting to try the Wipe New for cars. Its the one where you just wipe the car bumper or whatever & it restores it to new! They show an Avalanche on the commercial & thats what I have, the back pieces are all faded.

I broke down and bought the Ronco "Set It and Forget "rotiessere many moons ago. Ended up liking it so much, bought the larger version to do turkey.

I DO have to sit on my hands during those commercials, or I'd have a houseful of Ninjas, Temp-Tations and various food chopper gadgets. :rotfl2:

I also bought the Perfect Tortilla maker for my husband this Christmas. It was kind of a gag gift, but guess what? It really works well! Great for taco salads!

I saw a new report on Informericals a few years back. After that I will never buy off of one of them again - I may buy the products, but only if I find them in the retail store. You have to be very careful when ordering off of an Informercial.

The first big one is shipping and handling - you notice how they almost never specify what the shipping and handling is during the ad. They wait to hit you with it on the phone. This is where they make a lot of their money. Most infomercials charge very high shipping and handling - sometimes it can be more than the product itself. The latest trick is to "double" your order - just pay separate shipping and handling .... They make their money off the shipping and handling - so they now get to double it by sending you two products when you probably really only needed one.

The other trick they play is to sign you up for a subscription or service. They do this in such a way that you might not even realize that you are doing this. They will send you monthly refills automatically and charge your card for it - or you get a special service - such as on-line support free for 30 days, after that they bill you a monthly fees. They count on folks not bothering to cancel and actually a fair number of folks will get these recurring monthly fees and not even really notice them.

So I either buy the items in a store or off a web-site like Amazon, but never through the 800 number given during the commercial.

Let's see...for some reason we bought a treadmill off QVC years ago...not sure why that seemed like such a great idea because at the time we lived in an upstairs condo and the lady below us said we sounded like elephants just walking around...why did we think a treadmill would be quieter? :rotfl2: Yeah, sold it about two months later.

Then DH bought these individual blenders that blend in their own glasses...what is that called? Anyway...we can make our own shakes, blah blah blah...those eneded up in the very back of the cabinets about a week later.

Sensa....made no sensa at all why I bought that...went back a couple days later. :rolleyes2

The reason they sell that stuff at 2am is because you are sleep deprived and at the time it sounds like a great idea to buy a waffle maker for only $19.99.:rotfl:

The makeup ones always fascinate me. Murad had one today that looked good. Or the one Cindy Crawford uses. Anyone use either one and can say they are worth the money?

I keep eyeing the Lint Lizard too. I see them in the stores now, so I may have to get one. With 2 dogs I know our dryer could use some help!

Are you talking about the Magic Bullet? My DD begged for one for years at $99.95. I saw it at Bed, Bath, & Beyond for $40, and with 20% off, I bought it for her for Christmas about 8 years ago. We use it 3-4 times a week to make smoothies, milkshakes, and my Friday night Margaritas. I would cry if something every happened to my Magic Bullet.

My sister bought me another one for Christmas as my daughter is threatening to take hers to school with her next fall as she will be in an apartment as opposed to a sorority house.

One man's trash I guess.....................

I bought the lint one, not the Lint Lizard. I forget the name.

It is a blue roller and you have to do is use it and run it under water and you're good to go again.

Except you can't, and it isn't. It is a large sticky bit of rubbery stuff. You roll it over your clothes and it immediately fills up in half a swoop. So, to the sink, you rinse and rinse and it finally comes off.

It would take a half hour to do an overcoat.
