Don't be! Not as exotic as it sounds, lol.
There is a huge recreational park a couple miles from my house named The Beach. Walking/jogging/biking trails, a lake for fishing, clubhouse, tennis/soccer/basketball/volleyball, you name it. They always have something going on for holidays & if there is a concert or fireworks I can hear them from my house and see the fireworks if I walk far enough in my backyard.
A lot of the summer Olympic games were held there in 1996 when the Olympics came to Georgia.
And last year part of the second Hunger Games movie was filmed there.

So, the new boyfriend is meeting my family on Monday.

Since he just moved to town and his family lives on the other side of the country, my mom thought it would be nice to invite him over for the holiday, since we're barbecuing. I gave him an out and said he didn't have to come, but he just asked what time. So... Should be interesting.

Congrats on the new man. Hopefully, the meeting goes well. The first time I met my MIL, she told me I wear more makeup than her son likes. That was awkward, and I was not wearing that much makeup. For the past 15 years, I've barely wore any (not related). Ironically, I just bought a lot to start wearing it again. Twice, my husband told me it was too much. I guess my MIL was right after all for my husband's taste that is. He never mentioned anything back then, so I thought she was overstepping.
