I'm not young enough to read all 800 plus posts so let me just say this.
There is a life lesson here. I don't know why the older lady was forced to sit so close but the joy of getting older (the only real joy, I might add) is that we no longer take any crap from anybody.
It is your responsibility to make sure that your children are respectful of the space of others. Just because you think your kids actions are "cute" doesn't mean everyone does.
The difference between a younger persons reaction and an older persons reaction is just that the older person had seen and done and experienced more life then the younger ones. I don't know the circumstances of the incidents described by the OP, but I'll be willing to bet that it is more than just a casual encounter by the four year old. Let me tell you right now, like it or not, as we get older our tolerance levels get shorter and shorter. There is not a lot of time left and we have no intention of spending that time being harassed by someone else's child. Sounds heartless doesn't it? Well, it may be but when you get there you will see what I mean.
In the words of W.C. Fields..."go away kid, you bother me"!
I have no problem with a child being a child. I do have a problem with parents that think their kid is so precious that they can just invade everyone's space and they will think it's cute. They will not!
