Can't stand buffets. I know Whispering Canyon Cafe has family style. But I wouldn't enjoy Christmas dinner with the shenanigans in full force. :drinking1Heck I can't stand what goes on there on a good day - I sound like such a grinch, but it's not for me during a meal. (If you've been to WCC on Christmas day, and they tone it down for the day, let me know.)

I can't seem to find any information regarding a la carte options anywhere. The response from Disney Dining is that restaurants don't change their menus, except for the special ones listed, which are buffets and family style.

Please tell me if you've had Christmas dinner a la carte and where.

Thank you so much.

1) This is true.
2) For Christmas, very few eateries change their menus, unlike at Thanksgiving.
3) Since there are NO traditional meals for Christmas, thus, there is no need to alter the menus - just maybe the prices.
4) So, if you schedule a non-buffet meal, don't expect it to turn into one.

Thanks Rusty. I know that Raglan Road has one. I just want to stay in the MK resort area for the day.

Here in Canada, there are very traditional Christmas meals. Interesting. But then again our Thanksgiving doesn't sit so close to Christmas.

As for #4, that's exactly why I'm posting. I wouldn't ever surmise any restaurant would add one as an option, given Disney Dining's response. Just wondering if someone has found one on their Christmas trips.

Loved our Xmas dinner at Narcoossees. Normal menu. Great view of fireworks without a crowd. Enjoyed hanging out in GF lobby afterwards. Even caught EWP by accident.

Not sure what your definition of a traditional Christmas dinner is. For me it's turkey; if so, your best options might be Garden Grill at Epcot or Liberty Tree Tavern in MK. Both are family-style rather than buffet and both include turkey. For some people traditional Christmas is goose but you're unlikely to find it at WDW unless maybe at a Signature. For some people the tradition is ham. I'm not sure about a la carte restaurants simply because ham is so often a component at a buffet that I don't know many a la carte restaurants that serve a ham dinner. In the MK area, the only other restaurant I can think of that might work for you is The Wave in the Contemporary.

As a PP mentioned, very few restaurants change their menus for Christmas. At best you'll get a special dessert at a signature.

I guess Liberty Tree Tavern comes close to a holiday dinner. We always do Narcoossee's. It's a special meal and we love steak and seafood.

Hmmm... Artist Point is great. Not really traditional but Wilderness Lodge feels really Christmasy.

Other than that, I'd say 50's Prime time, but you'll get similar antics as Whispering Canyon.

1) If interested in particular eateries, list them, as it is easy to see if they turn into a buffet.
2) But, please, keep your list short, so I don't divert my golfing time in checking on eateries.

I'm not sure what info you are wanting, but I wanted to do Liberty Tree Tavern a la carte for Lunch on Christmas Day in 2013 (because that's how lunch is usually offered). But, it was served family style, like dinner, on that day, and I didn't know until I checked in that day. Also, I canceled and was not charged... They said that they could fill my spot.

Liberty Tree Tavern a la carte for Lunch on Christmas Day in 2013 . . . it was served family style, like dinner, on that day

1) As I said very few DO change to buffet, but not many.
2) Since LTT is so popular he change here makers great sense.
3) Plus they do dinner as an AYCTE, so it is a good utilization of food-employees-facilities to simply do the same all day.

Thank you everyone. I am on my phone, so not skilled enough to respond like I would like to do.

This is what I meant -

Disney Dining is giving straightforward information. That besides the special Christmas dinners at certain establishments (where even traditionally a la carte restaurants or meal times go buffet or family style), other restaurants keep their menu without adding a *Christmas dinner* to sit along aside their usual fare.

However, Raglan Road does add a *Christmas dinner* to their regular menu. Doesn't change the usual menu, just adds one.

I realize that traditional Christmas dinner is different to everyone. Heck, sometimes I am at a West Indian home and I would eating something completely different to my Christmases, and loving it.

To me, it is usually turkey but that is an aside. .I simply wanted to know if anyone had run into an a la carte restaurant that added one *Christmas meal* to their line up just for the day. Like Raglan Road does. Thank you.

No need to interrupt your golf day, as I am aware of that information Rusty.

We had Christmas Day lunch at LTT in 2014. It was a la carte then. Maybe your cancelation the year before helped to change it back the following year, so thanks!! :)

Thank for all the suggestions. They sound lovely. Narcoossee's sounds wonderful. Maybe I will luck out with an addition ro the menu this year. Luck out, certainly not expect.

I can't do LTT because I won't have park passes.

Interesting. I always knew it went family style all day for Christmas day. So this is great information for everyone.

I love lunch there.
