I realize that Ducklite's opinions are inviolate and nobody else counts, but I just wanted to point out that Blue Zoo is at the Swan/Dolphin (I believe Dolphin) and therefore at WDW NOT Universal.

We really like Artist Point at the WL. We like fine dining, and I consider myself a bit of a "food snob"...I like the frou frou kind of food! Artist Point is wonderful and we've always enjoyed our meal there. The Smokey Portabello Mushroom soup is wonderful, Berry Cobbler is divine!!

We've also done California Grill and enjoyed the food, but we like Artist Point better!!

You are right, mea culpa. I was thinking of Emerils for some reason.

As far as no one else's opinions counting, not so at all. But the OP asked for a restaurant similat to V&A's, and some of the ideas thrown out were about as close to V&A's as well...they just aren't close in terms of food (cuisine and quality), ambience, service... That's why I was suggesting that some of the posters possibly didn't have much to base the opinion on--the answers seemed pretty off base.

I also forgot to mention Shula's as a possibility, although the overwhelmong football theme and dark wood with dim lighting makes it a bit too full of testosterone to be considered romantic.

I would pick JIKO. We ate there again this past December and it was as fantastic as always.

Ducklite - I appreciate all the in depth information about the different restaurants. Yes, it does help to have a perspective over time and multiple visits. I've had my eye on Citricos, so was pleased to see you and multiple posters recommending it. Also, we went to Jikos a while back. I really enjoyed it, and would consider it again, based on the innovative food, and tasting the African wines. We will probably try Citricos and Bistro for something new that we haven't tried yet, Jikos for something I've liked from the past and would do again. Artist Point is another restaurant I've had my eye on.
