Your planning was very thorough and expectations very reasonable. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. Sorry you were ill. I've had those days at WDW that partially threw off our plans. Other factor for that could be weather. Usually it blows over in an hour or two. That's why we get Park Hoppers. So we can make up time, on another day, with a short visit to another park for the few things we missed earlier.
It's so hard to explain how huge WDW is. It's been described a few ways, like "as large as San Fran" or "twice the size of Manhattan." As you return on future WDW visits, you'll discover new things, because there's too much to take in on one visit. Looking back at your first trip, what description of WDW's vast size might have made an impression on you? Is there one?
