A Hop, NO Skip, and Many Mishaps to a Disney Dream!

What great pics of CC and Claire with her tube. As much as we love Marco Island, it is really rough on the feet. There are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many seashells that all the broken pieces are all over the sand as you approach the water and then in the first couple of feet of the water before you go further out.

Looks like Claire was having a whale of a time in the water :) Great that your mum enjoyed the glass bottom boat ride, I was looking at that on the website and pondering :)

Jen, this thread is moving too fast. When we meet, remember please, we are OLD and SLOW!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

I love how you trekked back to Captain Jack and that Claire wanted you in the photo too! Fun photos with the tube and I love the little video!

Serenity Bay has a few rocks too, but I love the fact that you can see your feet in the water even if you are further out - yip, I am weired like that!

Even though I remembered the rude lady story from your dining review it stunned me again! Did she leave ALL her manners back on the ship?

Oh, and BTW, we are meeting you in 53 days!!!!!!!! that is 7 1/2 weeks - can't wait!!!!!!!!

That's irritating that they would take your towel! Maybe it was the plate lady!!!!!

:rotfl:

I don't like that about beaches. I think I have heard that about Marco Island too. I have such horrid feet to begin with, so I don't need anything extra to kill them.

She really did like it. Mom said there was all sorts of wild life that they got to see.

Sorry. I have slowed down a bit though...all for you of course. :rolleyes1 :lovestruc I seem to so busy in the dya lately that I don't have much time to work on my pictures. But I am hoping to get it going, so I can be done..... before our meeting day!!! :cool1:

Loved this update! I've been waiting to see more of that beautiful water! :cloud9: And I'm glad you told me about the sand. I wasn't planning on wearing water shoes, but now I will. So was the towel yours or one you brought from the ship? I hope it was a Disney towel! Overall though it sounds like a great day. Did your mom take any pictures on her boat tour?

It was a ship towel, so no real loss for us, other than drip drying for Claire.

Mom doesn't take pictures. She took her camera to Hawaii one year and got a handful of pictures. :confused3 If she knows someone else will have a camera, she doesn't even bother bringing one. I bet she has no clue hwere hers even is.

Gorgeous pictures! Wonder why they feel the need to clean up so early -- if that's what happened to your towel.

Hi Jen!

I'll bet you were glad you decided to go back for Captain Jack! He really is too good to pass up!

Claire looks like she had so much fun with that tube! Well worth the $6!:thumbsup2

I can't believe your TA trip is coming up so quickly!:cool1:

i'm glad you took a lil break....gave me time to catch up :rolleyes1

I don't remember crossing any of the bike paths to get to Cookies :confused3 It's to the right of the main walkway....beach on left, Cookies on right. Your pic looks like you may have "gone around & entered thru the back way"??

I'm not sure exactly where you were on the beach, but you look pretty far down. The slide wasn't there when we were there, but I'm wondering if the sand got stirred up while they were building it? We had no issues with the sand there :confused3

As for the rude you-know-what with the plate.... When she finally asked if you'd hand her a plate....I would have said "No...since you're being rude." She didn't deserve you to be nice to her and do her a favor. The nerve of some people :sad2:

Oh...and those cookies....yeah...they were the best! :goodvibes I even loaded a bunch on a plate and covered it w/ a napkin and took a stack back on the ship with me :thumbsup2

I have heard it's because most of the clean up crew also has to make it back on teh ship. But still, if we had a tube there, you would think they would leave it with it for a little longer.

The tube was worht it. She really loved it. I didn't really think about getting one before hand, but once she saw it, that was on her mind. And she loved it.

This was Cookies Too, the new one, so I'm not sure if it was there when yo uwent. They just added a bunch of stuff (from what I read) to that area of the beach, including the slides.
But yes, We came in from the back side, which I thought was really weird.
I'm wondering if things got stirred up or a storm did something there. The other part was defiantely softer. There was a lady and her family sitting near where Claire was floating around and she kept saying the same thing about the stones killing her feet. She actually was one of the moms I was chatting with while waiting for Claire on the slides and we brought the subject up again.
But even though it was rough, I still rather be there than at home! :woohoo:

I wish I could make cookies like that at home..though it's probably good I can't!

You're not the only weird one! I love clear water too, it helps to see what critters are swimming with me (besides DH & DS of course):thumbsup2

HI!!!

Just read your report from start to finish last night & today!!! OMG!! I AM SOOOOO EXCITED!! We just made our final payment Monday and leave in 74 days for our Dream cruise. After reading your report so far, I am so excited. I was showing DD (almost 3) the pics and she went crazy!!

BTW - I was ROTFL when I read that your dad went to The Villages! My parents, grandparents and in-laws ALL live there!! (The main reason we go to Disney several times a year! We see them for a day and spend a week in Disney!!!!) As for the golf carts....watch out! Some people shouldn't be able to drive...car or golf cart! Did you know that the Villages was started by a group of people who weren't able to drive anymore so they started using golf carts instead!!

Anyways, I am sure I am going to have a million questions to ask you before we sail!

Can't wait to read the rest of your TR!!

PS - Carey suggested I read your TR after I told her we were going on the dream!

Thank you so much for joining in...and thanks to Carey for referring you here!

You are going to have so much fun. It was such a fantastic trip.
I did not know that about the Villages.
I will answer anything I can. Do you have a PTR started?

On June 16th, My lovely DD, Paige, turned 19! We went out for lunch that day. On the 11th, we had gotten togehter with my side of the family to celebrate. Here are a few pictures.

Another great update! It sure looks like Claire had a great time with that tube. Also love the video! :goodvibes

Does Captain Jack still do the little pirate show thingy outside of POTC? I know the heavyset guy that did the skit with Capn' Jack died a while back. Anyway is that little show gone?

Yup, the dear Captain is still recruiting pirates! Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial takes place on the stage right across from the attraction at 10:15, 11:20, 12:25, 2:15, 3:20, and 4:25. I'm a bit obessed with this show...:lovestruc

Thanks. She had a lot of fun.
And thanks for letting us know. I wasn't postive about it, but I thought it was still going on.

Thanks for the info on Captain Jack! The guy doing that role was the spitting image of Johnny Depp! DH was joking that JD probably didn't realize that when he signed his contract for the movie that he was obligated to work the MK! ;)
