I have been trying to find a healthy cereal for a quick breakfast and so far all I have found are ones that taste like their box. The latest being All Bran Bran Buds. I'm looking for something high in fiber- yet edible. I love bran, but this stuff is nasty. Luckily a serving is only 1/3 cup and I did choke it down, but I won't buy it again.

Any suggestions?

I like cheerios...to give them a little taste, I pour a single serving of peaches on it juice and all.

Two of my favorites are Kashi Crunch and Special K Red Berries. I also like Quaker Oat Squares, but it's much higher in WW points than the other two I've listed.

Kashi Go-Lean is 140 calories per 1 cup serving, with 10 grams of fiber and 13 grams of protein. Or you can reduce the serving size to 3/4 cup and still get 8 g of fiber for your 110 calories. I think it tastes great, for only 6 grams of sugar, but you can still add on a little Splenda if you want to.

I love the Kashi Cinnamon, but it's a little higher in sugar than some others. I like the Kashi Go Lean, but it's really too high in protein for me (I'm trying to stay within the recommended 10-15% a day), I already am getting protein in the milk. I actually like the Kashi cereals a lot, so I tend to go now more for the autumn wheat, the toasted oats (or whatever they are called!), etc. Kashi tends to be higher in fiber than many other cereals.

Cheerios (regular, plain Cheerios) are fairly healthy, there are actually quite a few healthy cereals (I am not sure where I'd found ratings, but I did find an interesting site which did rate a lot of various types). If I find it, I will post it.

Two great ones are Kashi Autumn Harvest and Kashi Go Lean Crunch! No card board box here! High in fiber & protein as well as all natural!

I love Kashi Go Lean Crunch. Even my kids like it. My DD 6 asks for it dry as a snack all the time.

I've had Kashi Go Lean Crunch and it is good (anything with "crunch" tends to be for me!). I wanted more fiber so I now go with Fiber One Honey Clusters. I eat mine with milk on the side or yogurt on the side and I like it. It has flakes of bran with clusters of sweeter grains. One cup=160 calories, 1 g fat, 170mg sodium, 47g total carbohydrates, 14 g fiber, 5 g sugar, 3 grams protein, 100 mg calcium, 120 mg potassium...yum yum

Mine is Smart Start w/Maple&Brown sugar. I do 3/4 cup serving instead of the 1.5 cup they list on the box. Its pretty good. A smidge more flavor than the regular Smart start and its got oats and a good fiber content. That w/ a glass of V8 is my breakfast on work mornings.

I love Kashi Go Lean!

Maybe I will retryn Kashi cereal, last time I bought it, I thought it tasted like cardboard:lmao: I could NOT stand it. Whats the best kind?

Another vote for Kashi Go Lean. It's my favorite. I have it every morning w/ light vanilla soy milk and strawberries or 1/2 a banana.

do you girls think the Vanilla Soy milk helps with the taste? I would be willing to try it for the high fiber. I can NEVER stay full:(

I would try it with the light vanilla soy milk. I think it helps to make it a little bit sweeter. I'm not so sure that I would like it either w/ regular milk. It may be a little too bland and cardboardy for me too! Also, you can add in a little bit of splenda and see if that helps too...

I love all my cereal with light vanilla soymilk. 8th Continent is my favorite.

If you are used to sweetened cereal, all healthy cereals are going to taste a little bland. I dress it up with splenda and frozen/thawed blueberries when I want more taste, and sometimes a little sprinkling of cinnamon.

I eat the Go-Lean almost every day. Love, love, love it! :goodvibes

While the nutrition label says 13g protein, if you read the box closely, you'll find that it's actually 10g soy protein (the remaining 3g comes from incomplete proteins...not quite the same when counting/tracking protein grams)

On a side note: I tried the Kashi peanut peanut butter "granola" bars, they are REALLY GOOD! Looking forward to trying Kashi at work on Friday morning, I work overnights. tomorrow I am having a veggie omlet, roasted some veggies tonight, dont want them to go to waste YUMMY

MULTIGRAIN CHEERIOS
3g fiber, 2g protein
I add 2 T of wheat germ which brings it to
200Kcal (with 1/2c skim), 6g protein, 4g fiber

AND NO SUGAR NEEDED!

It is alot more enriched than the regular cheerios too.

I start my days with a bowl of Kellogg's raisin bran.
Ive tried other bran cereals but like the Kellogg's best.
