A "heads up" for parents of young children who play vmk

What about the kids who sit there reading this filth? They may be getting the type of education that Disney and the child's parents did not intend for them to have yet.
It is simply not supposed to be allowed in VMK. And I don't care what VMK threatens to do to me if they don't like me reporting these people. Tough.
It's their job to look into and get rid of the filth in the game that we report.
 
It happened again , there was some real inappropriate talk in a room so i used the help button to contact staff and I got that lovely emergency only response, to say the least i was pissed (yes i said it) so i hit that button again and said i don't think so I am a mother who has two kids that play on this game, and that talk was completely incorporate and i was not going to stand for an automated response and what do you know i got one back saying they would follow up with it! I guess someone is at the bottom of that black hole you just have to put your foot down!

Just goes to show that it takes and upset mother protecting her kids to get a correct response!
 

i really cant wait to see what vmk comes up with next this is a very poor situation and no matter how much a parent educates a child saying something is wrong a child can easily be persuaded. i personally think vmk should have done more in this situation although luckily they do have the dictionary edited so that the children can not give out personal information such as addresses etc but they still should have done more. vmk is supposed to be a family friendly on line game and with some of the things i see on it such as the whole taken thing etc, even people now using words like dog to call people names i know this is not really too bad but it should not be allowed, it is basically saying to all the younger players of vmk that this behaviour is acceptable.

So, it looks like vmk is looking into the situation. Kudos to the staff at the "black hole" for their fast response! I hope staff also looks into revamping their automated responses to Call For Help. Their blanket statement "Please don't abuse the Call For Help System......etc." makes the person reporting feel like they have done something wrong.

Hmm, what to say about this response.....you choose to make light of this situation? I'm not surprised. Did I say this was about some little kid calling me childish names? The pervert was making a serious "girl to girl" come on! Geesh!
 
I wonder what has happened in the VMK I played until today.

Earlier today, I was roaming Main Street, and in every room in this land I saw dirty language, the taken game, and arguing. I proceeded to report a signature that was X rated and an argument that was getting out of hand with curses that would get you punished in your room for weeks. I then report this lowly argument to VMK, to only get that this use of the report button was unnecessary, and to use the ignore button. The talk I saw today was right out of a X rated site, and to have it tolerated in a Disney theme park game? No.

I plan to send a email to VMK explaining myself, and asking, what is going on?

You can quickly tell some of the staff in this game are not trained by the Mouse.
 
I was asked by a Guest to explain the game. He wanted to know what the NPCs were, where to shop, how to earn credits, etc. I took him through the game as I answered his questions. Of course I had to add him to my friends list so that I could take him to the different shops.

Oh, did I mention that the only communication he would have with me was through the trade window? He would not talk openly in any room, even if we were the only ones there.

It took me about 5 minutes before my "this guy is a freak" radar went off. Shortly after that, he started asking me very inappropiate questions, like where I lived, how "ancient" was I, if my parents were home (um yes, but since I am very ancient I don't live with them!), etc.

I used the Help button to report the player. I got the "this is for an emergency only" response. I hit it again. Same thing. Then I used the "Contact Us" link and left a detailed message, along with a "you should be ashamed of yourselves" message. I explained that if I, as an adult, was very uncomfortable with the person, what would this person do with a child? I had kept the conversations up with the freak, hoping that a VMK person would pop into the room and bust him. However, as this never happened, I let Shorty know how disappointed I was that they truely are not looking out for the safety of the children.

Last week (or is it weak?), I reported an inappropriate name. I used the contact us link. Their repsonse, "next time please use the Help button."

Make up your minds, VMK!
 
People like that freak are exactly why it is so important for us parents to make sure our children know that giving out information is very dangerous. I agree that in a situation like this it is an emergency and a very scary one at that.

So everyone, talk to your kids again, RIGHT NOW, about predators on the internet!!!!!!!
 
I know not to give away anything on where I live. Either I try to talk up a new conversation, leave the room, Ignore him/her, or report. That's why I normally feel good about playing VMK... :bitelip:. :cool1:
