A heads up about either QR or SR

I'm not sure which site caused it (I went to both SR & QR during the same timeframe), but one of these sites had a click that tried to release a Trojan virus into my computer today. Luckily, my anti-virus/spyware software stopped it before it could get in, but from what the quarantine said, it was a very ugly trojan that steals financial information (passwords & logins for banks & credit cards)

Those were the only 2 sites that I was active in during the timeframe in question, so it was from one of them. I just can't tell which site, and now I am afraid to go back to either site to let them know because I'm afraid it will try again.

I noticed something happen the other day and DH did a complete clean up afterwards. I don't go to SR anymore so it had to be QR. I will write to Dmitry and tell him he has something bad.

Can you be more specific about what you noticed going on? I've also had some quirky things happen lately . I have AVG scheduled to run every night. If I did get the virus would that have taken care of it if??

I concur, it was QR. This is the second time in a year. Sigh....

On SR, I only clicked the daily paid click & the scratch off, and then checked my account history, so I doubt that it was anything on SR's site.

On QR, I clicked the 3 offers on the home page for the $.01, and then I went through all of the clicks (except for the videos). I played the Fill My House game and did the trivia.

I walked away from my desk (yes, I was at work) to get a printout I had made before going to SR & QR, and when I got back, I noticed a pop-up came up saying that my SpySweeper software had blocked a trojan called trojan-phisher-sabanks.gen. According to the description from Webroot, it is a trojan that steals login info & account data from financial sites from your computer.

Hi Robyn,

I read that Trojan thing, but I couldn't locate anything nor has anyone except the people on Disboards reported it. I know we had a bug like that a year ago and I got 50 emails in less than an hour. What I think happened is that an advertisement on one of the advertiser’s side triggered this warning. As you know some sites have rotating banners on them. My guess is that all of you saw a specific banner there while everyone else didn't.

There isn't anything on our site that could be causing this. If you can pinpoint the click name I can investigate further (if that's even possible). 99% of the time these things happen as a result of a rotating banner on advertiser's side so there isn't much we can do except remove that click/offer. We would never put anything intentionally there.

I've doublechecked everything on SR and we haven't had anyone report this through our forum or our Trouble Ticket system. So I feel pretty confident that it wasn't from our site. But then again we tend to go a little bit overboard when it comes to filtering our clicks and offers. Even when it means not posting some things because they seem a little suspicious.
