Hello,

My sister (my only baby sister!) is getting married on Halloween (in 09), long way away I know, but she kind of has a strange theme that she is going for.

She loves Halloween, and Disney (and metal music, but that is just a side note). Down the road I may be asking you for more suggestions, but for now I just thought I'd ask if there is much "stuff" out there for Halloween characters. The ultimate cool thing I wish I could find would be Mickey and Minne cake topper with them wearing Halloween masks!

Now I wish I was going to MNSSHP (ooh, maybe I can sneak in a quick trip next year to "research") :rolleyes1

Anyway, what do you think? Maybe disneyshopping website or something?

Her other theme she likes is vintage mickey stuff. Maybe we can kind of combine themes... (sorry, I know I'm starting to sound like I am thinking out loud and I'm kinda babblin').

thanks for any suggestions!

Maybe they might be interested in something from "The Nightmare Before Christmas"??

As a "metal" girl myself :smooth: , I think the Nightmare Before Christmas is a great place to look for inspiration!! (kudos, mhcueball2!) I also think the Pirates of the Caribbean is a good source of inspiration, too! pirate:

Just stock up on "after Halloween sales" :) Thats when I pig out the most on candy, but then everything is super cheap. I'm SURE Disney has some great Halloween tricks and treats to use!!

Good Luck!!

You might want to look for a Mickey halloween ornament or salt and pepper shaker for the cake topper. I think they carry them at 12 days of Christmas at Downtown Disney -- and sometimes they have them in the catalog. IMO there is plenty of halloween mickey stuff you could do.

A friend had a wedding shower, and each of us took a holiday, and gave gifts of decorations for that holiday. My holiday was Halloween -- and since her fiance loves mickey and Disney, I gave all disney things. I mostly picked them up at wdw and ebay -- They have mickey pumpkin head candle holder things, mickey halloween garland, and a few years ago the Disney Store carried Mickey halloween party kits, with bat mickey's and other decorations. There is stuff out there, you just have to be creative and look for it. Set up a saved search on ebay, and have it email you when new stuff comes up. You'll have plenty of time to collect lots of stuff.

Good luck,

Janet2K could be of some assistance here she hadsome halloween themed parties around here vow renewal - if you find here wedding log that may help. I am sure that Disney can come up with a cake topper and much more!

Thanks for the advice and inspiration everyone!!! :yay: Yep, I've got plenty of time to get creative and search for stuff, (and spend too much money...) :scared:

I noticed on the Disney shopping website that they have really cute Mickey halloween lanterns that would make fantastic centerpieces. :)

I was also going to say that the Disney catalog and website always has lots of Halloween stuff out, and I think they put them on clearance too (after Halloween).

In the event you can get to MNSSHP at all, there is merchandise sold at the resorts and in the MK exclusively for MNSSHP. I got a really cute plush Stitch dressed as a pumpkin. :stitch: They had cookie jars, frames, s/p shakers, etc.

Looks like you got plenty of great ideas. Look on ebay and those after Halloween sales (if you want to save money of course ;) ) With so much time there is no reason why you wouldnt be able to find something that works.

(how do I get the Disney catalog? From the shopping website?)
thanks,
mary
I'm not sure. You can try www.disneyshopping.com and see if there is a "request catalog" but I don't think so. I used to get the catalogs after I ordered from the website.
