A Halloween Adventure in Autism (11/7) Prayer Request for Catie (p.129)

All caught up again! Sounds like a perfect day at AK and a wonderful way to finish off the night!

I love the AK parade...it's one of my favorites! Love the music and all puppets! I need to get that CD you mentioned..it would be great to have the music at home!

I'm so glad Tricia made it through ITTBAB! It's great when the teenagers show signs of still being a "kid"! They grow up too fast.

Can't wait for DHS!

I so admire Billy and the rest of you for doing this attraction! Once was MORE than enough for me! :rolleyes1

:rotfl: I know what you mean!

Sounds like a great end to your AK day! Doug has been religiously watching the AK show from the Travel Channel and has it in his head that he needs to see ITTBAB on our next trip (hopefully this fall). Thanks for the inside scoop on how to handle it with kids.

I would add that taking seats all the way on the left is also a good idea because they are closest to the EXIT (Just in case!) :rolleyes1

Congrats on your new ticker!! :woohoo:

She surprised me, that's for sure! But I was proud of her because she faced her fears and conquered them.

Now, if REAL spiders were in any way involved in this attraction, I'd be knocking people over to get out of there! :lmao:

The CD is available at the larger stores in the parks (The Emporium, Mouse Gear, World of Disney Store) and its called Magic in Our Streets. It features parade music from all four parks... yes, even the old Tapestry of Dreams from Epcot.

Kathy! Started my PTR!

Woo-hoo! What a great birthday present for you! :cake:

Great post, kathy!! Glad that Billy got to finish off his day with something he's been looking forward to!

Great long post! DS9 loves ITTBAB, must be a sensory thing. DD8 still sits on my lap and I have to confess I don't sit back in the seat. :rolleyes1

Seeing the pics and all the talk of zebra domes has me missing 'home' so much!

Can't wait to hear about DHS!

He's really quite easy to please... sometimes he gets a bit rigid in his demands, but overall he loves just about everything in the parks! :lovestruc

The 3D attractions are definitely sensory-stimulating!:rotfl: At least he only asked for it once! I don't think I could take more of the stink bug....

All caught up (except for the pics). What a great day at the AK. My oldest son has always hate ITTBAB. I bet he was so happy when he finally got old enough to not have to "suffer through it" with the rest of us. :rotfl:

I love the Mara. I think the food is really good. We ate there several times in June and I totally enjoyed it. I really like the outside tables. So peaceful and relaxing. And zebra domes - even melted they taste good!

Glad you guys decided to turn in early. I know all about those night owl teens and they are no fun in the morning!

Trust me, Mary Ellen, by the end of the week I was tempted to use dynamite to blast them out of bed!! ;)

I'm thinking of scraping together enough $$ to make it down to WDW for the Dermatology Nursing Association's Annual Meeting (3/24-3/28) at the Contemporary.

I'd like to take an all-day review course on Thurs 3/25 and then sit for the Dermatology Nurse Certification exam on Sat 3/27. Somewhere in between I may have a little time to visit the parks! :rolleyes1

I'm really trying to do this on the cheap. With a room-only discount code I can get a room at Pop Century for $93/night for the Wed and Thurs and $105/night for the Fri and Sat (returning on Sunday.) Its a lot less expensive than the "special convention rate" being offered at the Contemporary!!

Ed can't go... Any of my Dis-friends out there interested in hopping down to Disney for the weekend and splitting it with me?? I'll be busy Thursday and Saturday but can hang out the rest of the time!

Send me a PM!!!

Kathy

Oooo... That's very tempting Kathy, but I think our trip is too soon after that to justify it.

Oh I wish! that would be soooo much fun! I bet you will find someone though :goodvibes

I really hope it works out, you need to go!

Oh Kathy you know I'd go in a heartbeat!...but not quite sure I can pull it off. (With Nov coming up) But if you do go, my Mom and Dad will be at Ecpot on Sat the 27th for her b-day...you could meet my Mom (if you could get away) :goodvibes

Good luck I really hope you go!

Very cool! Hope it works out for you. :thumbsup2

Me too... of course $$ will be the deciding factor...

 A DIS-Mom-Meet!!

Oh, Kathy, you are going to have so much fun! I hope you are able to find someone to go with you!!!

Thanks, CP, I hope so too!
Airfares are a killer, though...

Kathy

Bill says he wishes your convention was in May :rotfl:..

Me too! Plus, it would give me two more months to study! ;)

I hope you find someone to room with, you are right about the air fares.

If we were doing our typical vacation in November I would purchase an AP and offset some of the high airfare with a deeper resort discount. But, as it is, I can't do that.

Someone should tell the convention planners not to have conventions during a peak season!! :headache:
