A Halloween Adventure in Autism (11/7) Prayer Request for Catie (p.129)

Wow! You do look mah-ve-luss!!! I mean it!! Down to the rings and all...

Caseys... changing the dogs was just wrong on so many levels! Why can't they keep a good thing going?

Phew! Crisis averted! Glad the situatoin blew over with Billy and the bun! :lmao: (for some reason that made me laugh the way it looks written) Hungry kids= cranky kids!

Thank you...the rings are from our chests of plundered loot! pirate:

I dislike stress at the table but I'm glad Ed made Billy try the hot dog... he wound up eating the entire thing!

Great update, Kathy! (as always)! The costumes look fantastic - I love the purple in yours!

Any chance you got a picture of the food eating food? That is too funny! :lmao:

Sara

I should have, really, but we were kind of finishing up and getting ready to go so I didn't take the time. They were taking pictures of themselves, though! I'm sure they chose Casey's expressly for that purpose!

Looking great! Although I had already peeked at your PP pics ;) :rotfl:

Aisling wouldn't eat the bun at Casey's but then again, she never does. We asked them for no bun and they were totally confused. We kept saying, "listen she'll toss it and it will go to waste" but apparently that was still confusing!

I think they're just automatic with their routines when they put food on the trays. Whenever we go out to eat I always ask waiters to have the kitchen keep the pickle when I order a sandwich because I never eat them, but the plates always come out with those dang pickles oozing juice onto my bread!!! :confused3

You guys look like you are having a fabulous time already! :) Glad you got to see all of the decorations! :)

I am mourning my old Casey's hot dog.

I will have to try the corn nuggets next time, too!

There's always a list of stuff to try next time, isn't there?? ;)

Thanks to the handy dandy links in your first post I am caught up! I hate missing all the fun chatter, but sometimes it has to be done!

First....Kidani is GORGEOUS! I love all the little touches...the Lion King characters in the curtains, the backs of the chairs....absolutely PERFECT! AKL is the one Deluxe I would LOVE to stay in one day. So cool that the girls were so into the animals...I agree..if you're gonna stay there, go for the Savannah view! Good choice!

Loved the pics of Billy enjoying the pool! Good for him for giving the slide a try! :thumbsup2

I was  about your Tangerine nightmare...UGH! I recently did the same thing at my DH's Christmas party. I guess I just don't get out enough! Glad you were feeling better by MNSSHP!

Your costumes are GREAT! The girls look adorable...not too "sexy" but just "pirate-y" enough! I love the tights!

Can't wait to hear more about the party! Now I can join in the chatter! :cool1:

Can't wait for morepopcorn::

I never realized how far Kidini was from the lobby of th lodge:eek: I always thought it was right by it:laughing:

Props to your husband for giving up a world series game:laughing: I LOVE disney, but I couldn't give up watching the Yankees in the world series:rotfl:

Oh, he stayed connected! He had his brother texting him all night with the play-by-plays...

:welcome:

I love the costumes, your pictures turned out great! Hooray for MK and Casey's..... despite the changes on the menu.

Of course you're not, but you're making US feel really old!!
I mean, Tricia will be 14 in March... ackk!! How did this happen??

Kathy

Tell me about it. I went to a huge wedding show with my little sister and it occurred to me I could be the mother of the bride age wise. Not HER mother mind you and it'd be a young bride but still.

:scared1:

One of Tricia's favorite shows is Say Yes to the Dress. We sometimes watch together and it always freaks me out to hear her talk about how she wants "her" wedding dress to look!! :bride:

Kendall was originally supposed to go with me but as usual, a sports conflict came up at the last minute. I wonder what she would have thought of the whole thing. I felt old and jaded and entirely underwhelmed but my sister seemed happy so that's really all that matters. I'm just glad she found HER dress, one less drama to deal with. Finding Kendall's will be bad enough.

All she can talk about is.

Her first pair of heels....

My oldest LOVES that show too! She's soon to be 13yrs and has told me she wants to go Kleinfield's for her dress. :rotfl: I told here there are perfectly good bridal shops in Chicago that I'm not going all the way to NY for her dress, not to mention the prices there!

Made a big mistake the other day and watched the Disney Dream Weddings show, now she has it in her head that she's getting married at WDW - Cinderella coach an all!

Warning! I am about to commit Reportus Interruptus....

It is truly killing me to think that I will not get back to WDW for another two-plus years.... :sad1: I've been playing around with the kids' school calendar for 2011-2012 and am considering two other travel periods (both earlier, of course!!)

Option One: Last week of June, 2011.

There is a small window of opportunity here. The kids' last day of school is June 23 (Thurs). Billy starts summer school July 1st.

It would require the same number of DVC points for our resort, but I'm concerned about the hot, rainy weather. Would the crowds be similar to Presidents' Week? :confused3

Option Two: Last week of August, 2011.

Fewer DVC points needed, so we could stay two more nights! But... Florida in August??? :scared: In the past the crowd levels would drop, but not if Disney offers Free Dining again....

Option Three: Keep Presidents' Week, Feb. 2012.

It kills me to "spend" more DVC points during a higher season and we will get slammed with crowds. Nice weather, though.
But.... two more years??? :hourglass

Forget Christmas Week... way, way too many points needed.
Ditto: Easter Week
Forget Thanksgiving Week... too many points and kids will miss some school.
(I'm really trying to avoid this... otherwise we might as well just keep going during Jersey Week!)

Oy.

Her first pair of heels....

Tricia wore heels to several friends' Bat Mitsvas this past year, so she's a pro at that already! (They were only about 1 1/2 inch heels, but still... heels!)

I would love, love, love to give Tricia a Disney wedding! :cloud9:
Unfortunatley, Catholics must marry in church with a Mass...

Sigh....

Kathy

Hmmm........

I've been the around the 3rd week of June in 07. Hot. Hot. Hot. Crowds not too bad. I think because it's so close to 4th of July that people wait for that holiday to travel.

I've been the last week in August right before Labor day. Hot. Hot. Hot. You're right. Crowds are much lower than summer. Even with Free Dining, I think crowds aren't unbearable.

I guess if you end up with either of those, you need to think-Do I want to start summer vacation with WDW or end the summer with a trip to WDW?

OK, first off, WHY IS it that people can't/don't show respect for the symbol of the freedoms we enjoy in the States??
We were at MK on July 4th one year and I made a point to make the kids go to the flag ceremony (both were in scouts at the time) so they behaved correctly, but I was totally amazed at all the people who didn't even realize what was going on! It kills me when we are at a sports game and some people don't even take off their hats. I haven't read your TR, but I'm going to head over there to read your story.

If Billy doesn't do well in the heat I'd really think hard about going during the summer time. I've never been so hot and miserable as the time we went at the end of June beginning of July. The heat just radiates off the concrete and bakes you through your shoes. We just dragged ourselves from one A/C building to another. The only thing that helped with Steven were the thunderstorms. He was facinated by them and would stay back in the room by himself and watch the storms off in the distance (we called it his detox time).

I would love, love, love to give Tricia a Disney wedding! :cloud9:

But you could have a Disney Reception!

If the weather at Disney the last week of June or August is like the beginning of June, then it is pretty hot. It's a tough call. If you are basing your decision on weather, then I would have to say that February is going to be your best bet. :(

I cordially invite you over!! We'd love to have more company. Basically, in a nutshell, in case you couldn't find it, I live in Asia, and I keep a blog. Last week, I was completely blocked off of any site that had anything to do with a blog. My freedom of speech was cut off in a grossly censored way. I found a back door, which actually may in the end get me in trouble, but we are about to wrap up our work here anyway.

If more folks in the US knew how much they enjoy freedoms like this, they might respect what we do have more. I know not everyone agrees with everything, but we have a lot of good going too!!

sorry, kathy!! hijack over.

First, I'd avoid President's week if you can! Since it costs more and it's one of the busiest times, it's NOT worth it.

We have friends that swear by going the last 2 weeks of august. They said the weather is hit and miss (one year it was 70 the next 100), but the crowds are low since school is already back in the south. So, I'd suggest going in August:thumbsup2

Last week of August, for sure! It's WAY less crowded, and not as humid/hot. It's also during hurricane season, so lots of rain.

Before I graduated college, I always went during "vacation" (President's week, April vacation, Xmas, Spring break). I thought it wasn't that bad. The trip in August '08 wasn't that bad, BUT my concern would be Billy if, say, they tie down the signs at the MK or if they shut a park early-could he deal with that? (Of course, on a selfish note, I *may* be going August 2011, so I'm for it for that reason.)

Hi we went the last week in aug. last year and it was great! No lines, maybe 5 min. It was hot, but if you drink lots of h20 you should bee fine!:goodvibes

I can handle crowds better than heat! I can escape crowds (especially with our buddy, Mike) but heat...not so much or for too long! I certainly can't do heat AND crowds, so I pick February. But I hate to think you have 2 years to wait! :sad1:

(Did I miss something - why aren't you thinking of Jersey week again? :confused3)
