A Halloween Adventure in Autism (11/12) New Thread Begun on TR Board!

That party sounds very fun!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, the party is NEXT WEEK!!!! It's going fast!!

Ladies, finally hitting that 99 day mark is going to feel so good!! :cloud9:

I keep looking at the Disney menus on All Ears and I'm having a tough time choosing what I want to make for the party... it all sounds so good!! (But I also don't feel like spending the whole day cooking!)

I had no idea pirates accessorized either! :rotfl: They will look great though wearing the same outfit-pirate twins! :goodvibes

I completely understand about your wanting for Billy to match - I'd be right there with ya.

The party sounds like it's gonna be a blast! I can't wait for the pics. I hope you are able to boil it all down on what to make. You could do "Earl of Sandwich" and just have people make their own! ;)

Yea, I'd probably figure out something else for Billy too. I think pictures look much nicer when everyone is at least wearing the same color scheme.

I can not wait for your Disney party. If I promise to wash dishes, can I come too?:flower3:

Awww! Hopefully I'll take so many pictures, you'll all feel just as if you were there!! ::yes::

Well, it's lunchtime here on the East Coast, the perfect time to post my...

Proposed "Double-Digit Countdown to Disney" Party Menu

This is going to be a very small outdoor party, so I don't want to go too crazy and make way too much food. My goal is to include at least one menu item from each of the four parks! This is what I've come up with so far:

Appetizers:

~ Chips 'n Dips, including the Artichoke Dip recipe from Tony's Town Square, the Magic Kingdom.

Salad:

~ Tossed salad with Blue Cheese Vinaigrette recipe from the Sci-Fi Dine In Theater, Disney's Hollywood Studios.

On the grill:

~ "Mickey" burgers, one regular-sized for Mickey's "head" and 2 sliders for his "ears!"

~ Hot Dogs ( I suppose this could represent Casey's at the Magic Kingdom!)

~ B-B-Q chicken, using the BBQ Sauce recipe from Flame Tree BBQ, Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Side Dish:

~ Macaroni Salad, using the recipe from the Biergarten in Epcot.

Dessert

~ Mickey Sundaes
~ Fresh Fruit Salad

I second the YUMMY!!

I LOVED the macaroni salad at the Biergarten, guess I'll have to find that recipe for our next BBQ. Did you find it online?

Here it is!!

Biergarten Macaroni Salad

Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients:
2 cups elbow macaroni, dry
1/2 cup celery, diced
1/4 cup peas
1/2 cup diced tomato
1/4 cup onion
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup pickle juice
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup sugar

Method of preparation:
Cook macaroni according to directions. Drain and cool macaroni. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and add to macaroni. Toss it well and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Sounds great, doesn't it? I thought a Biergarten recipe would be perfect since that's one of the "new" restaurants we hope to try on this trip!

Kathy

Thanks for the recipe. Yumm, it sounds great. We tried Biergarten on our June trip for the first time and LOVED it. Even picky eater DS found things he liked. DD7 had two bowls of the potato leek soup and I think three helpings of the cold sausage/wurst from the buffet. The Oompah band was fun too.
