Normally I wouldn't post about a quick trip like the one we took Friday, but we had such good luck!!
I picked up DH from work and we went straight to EPCOT. We didn't have any bags to check, so the security guard let us bypass his inspection station. The CM had to check my ID at the entrance because I just can't get the hang of that gol-darned finger thingie.
We went straight to Mission:Space to get a fastpass, but the standby line said 20 minutes, so we just got in line. It was really more like 5 minutes! Probably a good thing, less time to chicken out or worry! We had no problems with the ride, we didn't feel sick at all. We were very careful to keep our heads back and look straight ahead!
Then we went to Test Track for a fastpass, and DH got a "surprise" FP for HISTA. But, oh no, my AP wasn't activated at the entrance so I couldn't get a FP! We asked the CM what to do, and he gave me 3 FP to TT, good anytime that day for up to three guests!
So, we rode TT right then instead of waiting for DH's FP time.
We then went to dinner at the Sunshine Season Food Fair. What a great meal! DH had Chicken Parmesan and I had a cheddar and bacon baked potato combo. Yum!
Then we went to HISTA, but we really didn't need the FP after all.
After that, we decided to go on TT once more, another excellent ride! The people in front of us in the car were riding for the first time. I could tell the son was having a blast! He thanked his mom for bringing him to WDW, very sweet!
After all that excitement, we headed over to get a seat for Illuminations, and we were quite pleased to get a picnic table near Germany all to ourselves! I sat down to enjoy my baklava, and DH went to get himself a pretzel. The baklava was not as good as it was the week before...too hard!
Some chaperones for a high school band tour shared our picnic table with us after a while...everyone was friendly and no one blocked our view. Thus I am pleased to say I saw the "ground" effects for Illuminations (or water effects, should I say?) possibly for the first time. At least the first time in a long while!
After Illuminations, we went to play mini golf at Winter-Summerland. I hesitate to report this, because it seems not too many people realize it is open, even though Blizzard Beach is open. Hardly anyone playing! And to top off the evening, I beat my husband at mini golf for the FIRST time!
