Congrats! It's a wonderful feeling.

We are using our tax return to pay for DD's summer camp and the rest will go into savings or into our Roth IRA.

We should be credit card free in aobut 3 weeks and i can't wait!!!

FWIW, we get a large rebate and prefer it that way. We never miss it and are never tempted to use it for other things. We're using ours to pay off our car.

Congrats! It takes a lot of discipline to get some $ and put it towards debt rather than fun!
It feels so good to be out if debt. We just gave a mtg left. If we pay only the punt we will be done by the time we are 45 (9 yrs) but e hope to have it done in 5 yrs.

Thanks.........you're right........it would have been so easy to put it toward a vacation.......I love to travel and have those memories with my kids, but we have been blessed to have lots of vacations in the past, and it was the right decision.........now I can start saving for a vacation and not worry about the bills sitting there at home.

Thank you very much.....I appreciate all the support.

Im sure it will be hard in the months to come with the economy, and prices on everything going up as well as 3 kids.......but this gives us peace and we will be able to deal with the future much better now.

I'm someone who used to get back from the IRS about $100 and the last couple of years (when I started working full-time) we have to pay.

It's sooooo hard hearing about everyone getting these HUGE $1000s in refunds when I have to pay.

But anyway, I do agree with the other posters that said it must have been hard not to book a WDW vacation with that refund. That's probably what I would have done! lol. I bet it feels so good to be debt free!!!
