We were fortunate enough to have spent a week in one on the Vero Beach Cottages this past 4th of July week. Number 1575. The Olive Ridley Cottage. It was myself, DW, DS, a cousin (to keep DS happy) and my in-laws. We saw the shuttle launch, loggerhead turtles laying eggs, and so much more. It was outstanding and a week we'll always treasure. If you ever get a chance......the Beach Cottages do not disapoint.
But this is not a trip report.
My in-laws spent the next eight weeks travelling from their home base in Florida throughout the northeast visiting friends, relatives, and multiple cities.
At some point in this journey ( and unbeknownst to the rest of us) my father-in-law realized his wedding band was missing. (When exactly we'll never know for sure without truth serum!) But I do now know he spent the last week searching high and low for it to no avail.
As a very last resort he called the Vero Beach resort this morning, and....after going into expicit details of our visit....well you know the rest of the story.
My father-in-law called me this evening relieved and elated. After 45 years of marriage, and a long eight weeks, my father-in-law was reunited with his wedding ring thanks to either Mousekeeping or a very honest and decent subsequent guest.
So I would just like to express my thanks to whoever was the person of character.
I've always taken the whole "Disney Magic" thing with a grain of salt.
There's a pretty decent chance I may reconsider.
