We were fortunate enough to have spent a week in one on the Vero Beach Cottages this past 4th of July week. Number 1575. The Olive Ridley Cottage. It was myself, DW, DS, a cousin (to keep DS happy) and my in-laws. We saw the shuttle launch, loggerhead turtles laying eggs, and so much more. It was outstanding and a week we'll always treasure. If you ever get a chance......the Beach Cottages do not disapoint.
But this is not a trip report.
My in-laws spent the next eight weeks travelling from their home base in Florida throughout the northeast visiting friends, relatives, and multiple cities.
At some point in this journey ( and unbeknownst to the rest of us) my father-in-law realized his wedding band was missing. (When exactly we'll never know for sure without truth serum!) But I do now know he spent the last week searching high and low for it to no avail.
As a very last resort he called the Vero Beach resort this morning, and....after going into expicit details of our visit....well you know the rest of the story.
My father-in-law called me this evening relieved and elated. After 45 years of marriage, and a long eight weeks, my father-in-law was reunited with his wedding ring thanks to either Mousekeeping or a very honest and decent subsequent guest.
So I would just like to express my thanks to whoever was the person of character.
I've always taken the whole "Disney Magic" thing with a grain of salt.
There's a pretty decent chance I may reconsider.

Wow! :wizard:

Great story! Real magic! Thanks so much for sharing!

Awesome ! Brought a smile to my heart :goodvibes

Wow. I'm so glad he got his wedding ring back. My DH is on his 6th or 7th......(we've been married 9 years in October). It's nice to know honest people still exist!

I have to say that when I first read your post I thought that my DH was the person you were thanking, but remembered you were there in July and we were there in May and DH found a ladies band at the pool and turned it in. We hope that the person who lost it was fortunate like your DFIL.

Also, we second the Beach Cottage Rave, several years ago were there with 2 other families, had the cottage right there at the pool, was great with all the little ones, ages from 2-10, didn't have to walk far, it was wonderful!! In May, DH & I had an inn room with the most amazing view of the ocean, but we longed for the beach cottage, so...instead of a cruise this year we opted for 4 nights next week in the cottage!! I only hope that this new tropical depression keeps heading north, sorry NC.

Which cottage were you in? in reference to the pool?

Yes there are a lot of good poople out there.

How wonderful to hear of your DH's upstanding character :sunny:
Really brings a ray of sunshine to the heart!

Things like this show how great some people can be.pixiedust:

Last Nov at DLR I left my purse at a restaurant in FantasyLand. My 5 yr old niece wasn't being very princess like and I didn't notice until we were out the gate. My DH went back to the restaurant and the man sitting at the next table saw what happened and turned it into the cashiers. I was one lucky and thankful person.
