A great big pickle...sigh.

...sigh...I'd be very tempted to ask if those pancakes could be ordered thru in room dining and then sit on my balcony, soaking up the view and delicious breakfast....but in room dining is so darned expensive, I'd prolly skip it and head to Kona's.

Wanna see our view on our last Poly stay????

Oh wow!! Gorgeous view. Sigh. I can't wait to get to the Poly. I think I will sit and cry if I get a poopy room. :(

If you do get a poopy room, request a room change asap! Go down to the front desk and if the CM is not helpful, ask for a manager on duty.

We even ask if a certain room is free - for instance - the rooms near the room above - we asked if 3915, 3917 or 3919 might be available and said our friends stayed in those rooms and loved the location.

The very UN charming CM , droaned, "oh, you want to see the castle" and I replied in my sweetest voice and smile - "No, I can see the castle at the park, but I understand these rooms are not covered by over grown tropical foliage".

OH, oh!! Read this on another thread and it sums up the Poly perfectly for me... (or GF or MK side of CR)

Enjoy the monorail to MK & Epcot!

Enjoy watching the fireworks from the pool.

Enjoy watching the water parade.

Enjoy the smells of the Poly-OK some people think it is gross but that is a childhood memory for me.

Enjoy listening to the train whistle blow, the ferry or the howling from The Haunted Mansion.

oooh. I like your reply! I'll file that one in case I need it. :rotfl:

...and it was the truth!!

We used a TA that trip and it for some reason none of the requests for any of their clients went through the Disney system. When I saw the room we were assigned I actually began to giggle - the CM looked at me like I had heads...but it was the exact room we were given on our very first Poly stay in March 1982 (this was December 2007). It was a not so great room and I had no desire to stay there again (I explained to her why it was kind of funny and why I'd appreciate her checking to see if any of the other rooms might be available) - First floor, with a patio so overgrown with bushes that we could not find the patio. I was alone with 4 pre-teens and it gave me the creeps..but then I noticed a family of roaches hi-tailing it up the wall!!

Soo, I called the front desk and they told me they were booked solid, but would move us the next morning. To have our luggage ready at 8 a.m to be picked up and come to the front desk for a new room.

We did just as told and when we arrived at the front desk she told us we could not have a new room until check-in at 3 p.m.! I explained our situation and what we were told (never occurred to me to ask for a manager), but she said nope, 3 p.m. We only had 3 ngts and this was our second day/ngt already and we'd be room-less.

Well, we'd packed everything. Our original plan was to go to the MK, then back to the resort around noon for some pool time, then dinner and back to the MK (EPCOT had just opened in Oct, but weren't going there that trip). That wasn't going to happen, so we enjoyed the MK for the day. Not hard to do. :)

Well, 3 p.m. comes and goes...finally around 5 we get our new key...head for our new room and what??? It's the room directly above the 1st room!!! I was stunned....it was the last room I expected. This time I called and did ask for a manager - when I told him of our adventure, he apologized over and over again..offered to change the room immediately, but I declined as we wanted some time to enjoy and not keep changing rooms.

We stayed in that night, left bright and early for our last day - when we returned there as a HUGE basket filled with goodies and an apology note from Mickey! Don't think that would happen today.

The point of this long drawn out story? No idea :confused3, but it was a nice trip down memory lane for me. :goodvibes

And thank you for sharing. You almost lost me at the roaches though. Tracy doesn't do roaches! Nuh uh! Run away run away! :scared1:

I popped this up quickly and really big - wish you could have heard the squeal....it was so loud maybe you all did!!!!

Thank you!!!!! :goodvibes  :goodvibes
Awww....:grouphug:
Well, I meant the CSR. But this could be home too--I've had so much fun with all of you guys.

Yes, I'm glad to have gotten to "know" you all. I hope one day we can meet for real on a Girl's trip!

Christine, that quote is so true about the Poly! Have to add one thing to it....Lying in a hammock under a palm tree sipping a fruity drink, while gazing across the lagoon at the Castle:cloud9:

Andy and Nicole called. They are currently sipping "tropical drinks" in a hammock on the beach at the Caribbean. It was very hot when they landed, but they said it is beautiful right now.

I AM jealous. I AM jealous. I AM jealous. And I might not speak to him when he gets home if he doesn't bring me a surprise! :rotfl:

Sniff. The hammocks. In the delicious white sand. By the lake. In the moonlight. By the fireworks. Where Mickey lives. At CBR. :thumbsup2

There are hammocks at the CSR too--one has my name on it! :rotfl2:

Yes, I really wish I was there. The had asked me to go with them but, alas, if I could not afford to go with DH in September, I couldn't afford to go with them either.

So, did you make any more ADR's today?

No more ADRs today. I started to figure out if getting a dining plan would be more idea for the last part of the trip, but haven't been feeling all that great so I am reading a lot on the boards. Mostly trip reports. Trying to get the magic back.

I am so not going to be fitting in my pants and I'm going to be miserable in that heat. :sad1:

Be sure to read this trip report: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2187084 Alan stayed at CSR last year and was going to Pop this year, but he ended up back at CSR! He's got a great family. And he does an awesome job on his report.

YOU ARE GOING TO BE FINE!!!! No more "being miserable". It's happy time. The countdown is getting closer and you are going to love both of your resorts. The kids said it was hot when they got there today, but it has been beautiful since around 6:00.
