I think it strange that only 2 of us on this thread have gotten the letters. Anyone else gotten one?

KB24- are you currently booked in CL? Just wondering if that has something to do with who gets it and who doesn't. Strange.

I just got one! I am not CL, I am just a regular guest. I booked through Disney and going Columbus Weekend.

I got my letter on Monday. Booked CL with AAA. Arrival date Aug 18th. Depart Aug 25th. Hopefully impact will be minimal.

I got a letter on Monday. We've already switched to the Poly. We had booked a bounce back rate for RPC dxl room for Labor Day weekend.

Do we know if the jacuzzi will be closed at the GF during the main pool refurb? It is in that general area so my guess is yes, but just looking for confirmation.

I was told by a cm at the GF that the jacuzzi will be closed as well.

I booked through a TA for a November stay and have not received any letter, nor has my TA. One thing that concerns me is breakfast. When I called the GF the day this news developed, the CM I spoke to said that there would be no CS breakfast available at the GF. The pool bar would not open until lunchtime. She said that I could always just go to the Cafe for TS breakfast. I have a dining plan though, and was planning to use a good number of those counter service credits on breakfast. Uggh. Also, she told me that the courtyard pool would be reopening on November 22, (awfully specific, but that's what she said) but the letters people are getting say it won't be reopening until December. Darn. Until I have my own letter in hand, I just can't switch to another resort....and don't really want to because I LOVE GF, but it is just not what I was hoping for... I am hoping hard that their timelines are padded.

I don't think they know themselves because when I called yesterday I was told that qs breakfast would be served at the beach pool grill and there will always be breakfast items available. I'm not so sure about the grill serving breakfast but I'm at least hoping for some coffee and pastries.

Now that is unfortunate. I wonder if they will give us any options or just apologize for the inconvenience. The GF should really have 2 of them.

The one option I know we were given was to use Poly's amenities...

Yeah..I thought that would have been the most logical option. I guess we will see how it goes. I suppose they give you a "pool pass" or something to certify that you are a guest of the GF etc. Even though I've never seen CM's actually check to see if you are actually a guest of the hotel. Those darn pool hoppers..

I'm sure it does happen though.

Looks like the Poly doesn't have a jacuzzi. I was unaware of this. Looks like I am just not meant to have a jacuzzi this time around lol.

I was unaware of this as well, not like I was planning on being in the jacuzzi anyways.....

Yeah..I went to the trip advisor section for poly and started browsing through the photos to see what the jacuzzi looked like. After about 300 pics I decided to look it up in google and that's when I noticed that there was not one located on that property.

For me, the jacuzzi is just a nice way to end the day and take care of all those aches and pains. Anyway..enough about the Poly..

Has anyone been able to view any of the suites at GF? I wouldn't mind asking a tour this time around because I may be interested in renting one in the near future. I just didn't know what the protocol was etc. obviously...it would be based on if the rooms are unoccupied.

Hi folks. Got back from the GF 2 days ago. First, stayed in SL with marina view. No sound of construction from our room or by the quiet pool. The monorail service was terrible due to break downs, not because of construction.

I found our room to be a little less "grand" as far as housekeeping goes. The bed skirt on the bed was half way down on the floor from day one. It took 5 days to fix the TV. The cable company was actually called to come fix it. Found a chocolate on the floor under the bed skirt that was on the floor. Spoke to the manager of housekeeping. She came up to the room and said it was unacceptable.

We will stay in RPC next year. Don't want to get wet running from building to building. The weather was not the best. Our first day there it poured. Got soaked coming out of the main building. Drainage is none to great near the pool into SL. I had to blow dry our sneakers!
