Hi all, I was just wondering what kind of packages you buy when you are setting off on your Disney adventures?

This being my first time, ive went through around a dozen different combinations of tickets already, and ive only been planning it for a few weeks! Its me and my 9yo son, and he is right into all the superhero stuff, so I think IOA is gonna be his favourite place. Not to mention Jurassic Park - he'll want to spend a whole day there alone! I know Epcot will be a favourite of his as well (he does science in school and loves it, plus for one so young, he has an avid interest in other countries and cultures - perfect!). For me, it will be Epcot and AK im looking forward to most. In addition to this, I can see almost everynight being spent at DTD, and specifically in DisneyQuest!

So, taking all the above into consideration, ive so far plumped on the following ticket packages;

5 day magicyourway basic pass for Disney.
5 day 3 park tickets for Universal.
1 day (and 1 day free) ticket for SeaWorld.
Annual pass for DisneyQuest (only about $160 for me and the wee man - otherwise about $50-60 per night! )

And im planning on doing an itinerary something like;

WDW
Universal
Seaworld
WDW
Universal
Day off
etc

Anyone any suggestions to better my plans? There are so many ticket options available, its difficult to choose :rolleyes1

You can get an ultimate ticket for either 7 or 14 days. This includes all the disney parks, water parks and disney quest, and you can even do several parks a day if you wish. check your local travel agents, you can order these from there even if you havent booked your holiday with them. They are round about £180 for adults and £160 for kids for the 14 day ones. I have just bought them for our sept trip. Going places also do a 7 or 14 day universal pass for round about £80 for 14 days, i have these too. I know its a lot of time but then you can pick or choose when you go somewhere and not worry that you have used your allocated days. If you son loves Science you could also visit Kennedy Space Centre and again you can book at a travel agents for £42 per person.

If you go into any travel agents you can pick up brochures which list all these. They are real value for money.

Hi, congratulations on your upcoming trip!

I can recommend the following site www.themeparkticketsdirect.com.

They have very good prices and send you real tickets, not vouchers. Also free recorded delivery of tickets within 2 weeks of booking.

We go every November and I found this site last year and will also be ordering off them in a few weeks time for this years trip.

Have you thought about getting a 14 day ultimate ticket?

This includes all 4 Disney Parks, both water parks, DisneyQuest, Disney's Wide World Of Sports Complex, ( have still not been there after all these years ) also entrance to Pleasure Island and unlimited transportation throughout Disneyworld!
The price for these are £154 for adults and £134 for children. You say your son is 9, will he be turning 10 before or during your trip? If so he will need an adult ticket as childrens tickets are only for 3 - 9 years.

Also you may want to consider the 4 park Orlando Flexticket which include 14 days admission to Universal Studios, I.O.A, Seaworld and Wet and Wild. These are £96 per adult and £78 per child, again only up to 9 years.
There is a 5 Park Flexticket which also includes Busch Gardens and these are £117 per adult and £102 per child.

We always get the 14 day ultimate and the 4 park flex every year, we could get Annual passes as we go every year but usually we cannot go on or around the same date every year. It is usually about the middle of Nov one year and towards the end of Nov the next, due to DH getting time off work.

Anyway, HTH's and have a GREAT TIME, YOU WILL GO BACK, WE ALL DO!!

Regards

Karina

P.s. As a first timer get yourself The Brits guide To Orlando and Walt Disney World 2007 by Simon Veness. It tells you everything you need to know.

Personally find the Magic Your Way tickets best for Disney, you get so many options and we find the hopper/non expiry one's ideal for us as they last for several holidays. Ours is a 10 day one and even after 2 holidays we still have 4 days left on them.

Universal and Sea World, there are always offers on - as it is your 1st time it would probably be a good idea to plan some rest days as doing a theme park each day would be a bit much I suspect.
Therefore I would suggest something like a 2 day Universal ticket perhaps?
As US/IOA are walking distance apart is it possible to visit both on the same day.

The Universal Annual Ticket is incredible value for money, works out cheaper than the Flex Ticket and offers many discounts too, if anyone is visiting twice within a 12 month period then they are a good idea - our's unfortunatley expires this year.
The renewal price of $99 is also a bargain.

Sea World is well worth a visit.

As it's your first trip I personally would recommend getting the 14 day ultimate ticket, it gives you more freedom and will allow you to come and go a bit more easily for example say you go to AK but by 2:00 you realise you've done everything or it's not quite as good a park as you had expected you could then pop over to one of the other parks for the rest of the day without staying put for the whole day because otherwise it would be a waste of a day's ticket. It also takes off the pressure of trying to cram everything in in a day knowing that you can always come back at some other time during your holiday even if you have a morning resting and chilling by the pool you can then pop to a park in the afternoon to finish doing the things you missed.

Whatever ticket you decide on, have a great time.

Thanks for all the input guys, its much appreciated :thumbsup2

@ buzz: Yeah, thankfully junior will still be 9 at the time of going :woohoo: Although there is such a minor difference between adult and child tickets usually that im not really worried about paying full price for him next year (and even at this early stage of planning my first time, im pretty sure we will be back next year as well! :cool2: )

My first instinct was to go for the 14 day passes for both WDW and Universal as the flexibility that this affords is much better than what im planning now. However, given it is our first time, I cant see us becoming bored with any of the parks at any point on this holiday. Plus, even if we do have a bad day at a park and wish to leave, we always have both the DQ tickets, plus the car to fall back on for something to fill in the rest of the day.

The difference in price between what ive chosen so far, and the 2 14 day passes is about £150, so it is quite a bit of a saving.

Anyway, im off to Barcelona for a week next Saturday (woohoo!) and when I come back from that, planning for June will be going into overdrive, so ill mull it over for the next couple of weeks I think.

Again, thanks everyone for the input! Its great to know that there is loads of people ready and waiting (and more than willing!) to answer all my questions :thumbsup2
