A good stopping point??

We are going Jan 17-23 and driving down from Raleigh NC. I don't want to get there on Sunday and be exhausted and not go to the parks so we thought about leaving on Saturday Jan 16th and spending the night somewhere.
Where would be a good, fun area to stop that is on the way down to Orlando?

I think if you take I-95 south, Savannah GA is about the half way point.
But I'm not familiar with the area, and can not suggest any "fun" stops.

How old are the travelers in your group ?
Any people from Georgia out there that can help with ideas ?

Thanks. My kids a are 5 and 4. Savannah would be good... I have never been there.
