A Good Camera for Disney for my Birthday!

Need Help my camera is just about done, it was bad enough that I can not even get the memory card because it has become obsolete. My husband said he would buy me one for my birthday for our next trip.

There was a thread somewhere on here that was talking about the different types of cameras people like...can not find it

Can you please help me and tell me what type of camere you have and if you like it.

i love my kodak easy share camera. it's a few years old, but takes great pics. also small to fit in my pocket, which i LOVE! i always have it on me too. you can get a printer for it and that's really fun! my mom just bought one for herself and it has higher mega pixels than mine and it was cheaper!

i have a big nikon that's about 15 years old that needs work done on it and that was such a pain to carry around in the parks. heavy and didn't fit in my pocket, not to mention having to carry film!

How much are looking to spend?

We have two Canon's, and I love both of them.

The first is a DSLR Rebel XT. Love the lens options, and great for action.

The second is a Canon IXUS 980 IS. It's a point and shot camera. Great for family photos and has a wide variety of shots.

I am looking for a new camera too. I have a Canon Digital Rebel, Pentax WP, and an Olympus SR70. I love the Rebel, but it is getting old and a little too big to carry around all the time. The Pentax has worked great, but doesn't take pictures fast enough. I just got the SR70 a year ago and I don't like it. It doesn't take good pictures, is hard to use. I am looking for something small, that can take several frames at a time.

I just got this one - Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20 10.1 MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom and Super Steady Shot Image Stabilization - it was about $245 on Amazon.com. It's a bit bigger than most digital cameras, but I am already loving it !! I am not a photographer by any means, but love to take pics Here's one I took with this camera

Sorry to Hijack...I am looking for one for my BDay too( for my December disney trip).Anyone hear anything about the Nikon Cool pics s230 10mp camera.I need a good point and shoot for dummies since I still use a 35mm film camera!

Cannon or Nikon are the best in my opinion...do some quick research, but the point and shoot Cannons are great for ameteur pic taking

For point and shoot, I love my Canon elph 1100IS. Small enough to always be in my pocket or purse so I never have to say "I forgot my camera" and it really takes some great pics too.

I am looking at the Sony Cybershot or Canon Powershot??? Any thoughts?

I have the Canon PowerShot A710 IS. It takes two regular/chargable AA batteries. It has 6X optical. I have taken it to both DL and WDW. I have at least 15G worth of memory as I also used it for video clips. That was enough last year for 2 weeks at WDW. The only thing I didn't like was how far away the characters were at Fantasmic-I was in the reserved section about half way up. I was very happy with all the other pictures and movie clips it did.

I just bought a camcorder so I can get a better view of Fantasmic. It has 70X optical.

Congrats! I just got a new Sony Cybershot and love it! The features, zoom and color are fabulous. We also got it to take on our Disney trip in November.
