i've heard that the standard is $1.00 per day per person for daily maid service. i think ray and i left $2-$3 per day when we stayed at POP. i downloaded pre-printed tip envelopes last time and they worked great on regular 4 1/8 x 9 12/ envelopes. here's the link:

I think that is very generous..Dawn was right about $2-3/day. We did $4 but a few days I forgot to leave something so I guess it evened out!!

I wore mine in June and met 2 great gals! I saw alot of people wearing Lime Green from head to toe - didn't ask

i saw a lot of people wearing lime green, too, but didn't ask them if they were DISers. i figured if they wanted to be approached they would've had a LGMH. otherwise they were just freaks in lime green!!!

I think if I saw someone with a LGMH, I would approach them but if someone was in lime green? I might be worried about looking like a idoit! However, if they looked friendly, I might ask if they were a Diser? However, I haven't had any of those opportunities.

see what i said above. i just can't bring myself to do the lime green thing other than just attaching a LGMH to my bag! i will, however, make an exception for the shirts that aries is making us for our peep meet!

About getting your APs at DTD - There's a Guest Relations office at DTD, on the left, kind of set back, about halfway down Marketplace. We were in and out quickly and then browsed some shops before going back to Pop to see if our room was ready. That way, we didn't waste any park time when we got to MK that evening.

And yes, it is hurray for going four times this year! We're making up for many vacations that we were not able to take when I was raising three kids alone and going to school full-time, working full-time, etc. Now that we're able to have a few dollars left at the end of a payday, as opposed to there being a few days left at the end of the payday dollars, we're happy to be making up for lost time. They're still budget vacations, but they're vacations nonetheless!

thanks for the info! depending on what time we get in that friday night, i may go over there if it's still open. we were planning on hanging out at DTD while we're waiting on a call from tara that she's on her way from the airport. that would save me some time the next day at the parks!

congrats on your trips and for being in a place in life where you can enjoy yourself! i hope to be able to invest in DVC within the next 5-10 years so we can enjoy our vacations more, as well!

a bit of a shopping update........

first off, i received this in the mail on monday:

it's erin's ticket. i had forgotten that when i ordered a 3-day park hopper for her from undercovertourist.com, they gave me 3 extra days for free. so that says 6-day park hopper. we can't use more than 3 days for this trip, so i did some research and found out that she can upgrade the ticket when we check in to a non-expiration ticket for about $70 and use the other 3 days later down the road. if she doesn't do it i'm going to strangle her! i haven't told her the details because you can't explain these things to a non-DISer over the phone. we're going to a bachelorette party saturday night so i'll fill her in then on the details.

secondly, i went by the dollar store and got some ponchos. i also found this cute mickey pen for the characters that have trouble using a regular pen!

finally, this came in the mail today. i saw it on hottopic.com the other day and i couldn't resist.......i'm such a dork.

i think i'm wearing this with white shorts even though it's after labor day. i already asked tara if she thought this was a huge fashion crime and she said no. i mean.......it's disney, right? have you guys SEEN what people wear there?????? and of course i'm gonna order those black alice crocs to go with that outfit!!!

you can't really tell in that picture, but it's really BIG! they had mickey, minnie and tink. but they only had 2 tink pens and one was sticky (gross!) and the other one was broken. so i went with mickey!

This is funny. I go to a female GP and she's about my age (40ish). Anyway, her husband is her office manager and he has the longest mullet. I want to laugh so hard when I see him because I guess I assume that people who have some money should have a better sense of fashion...apparently not.

You don't have to be in the sticks! Up here in NY my evil SIL's son has a mullet....she is one of those women that refuses to cut her son's hair so he will stay a baby forever. DH and I call him Rick.
